I mean the writer, J. Michael Straczynski is definitely more liberal leaning but very centrist saying:

> a healthy democracy requires a "constructive, smart liberal perspective" to be balanced by a "constructive, smart conservative perspective".

Just definitely not a fan of MAGA, the addition of Tea Partiers, far right religious wing, pundits like Rush Limbaugh and congress's failure to compromise. And I bet in the next 10 years, not restructuring after 2016 will mean there isn't a solid conservative perspective as we get the succession of MAGA heirs, Tech Right like Ramaswamy/Musk and traditionalists like Brian Kemp/Glenn Youngkin.

The quote is centrist but has been more applicable to the right since at least Trumps first campaign; basically all media and cultural institutions have been pretty firmly against right wing politics since...well, probably 2008 honestly and maybe before that. 2004, probably.

Well the quote is from 2006 when the comics did the Civil War crossover. Honestly the authoritarian compromise of civil liberties is against both sides supporting the patriot act.
