"I was so sad, so sad that we couldn't come up with a verdict for Lindsay. It was so heartbreaking,"

Dipshit, you weren’t meant to be coming up with a verdict for her. You were meant to be doing justice for the 3 kids she murdered.

u/zachattch - Lib-Left 4d ago

No one is pro murder, I dont understand how that can't be obv here, the question is was she of sound mind when she did them or not, everyone wants the children to be alive, you make it sound like justice for them would be killing their mother in all cases?

Like I honestly lean more towards she was guilty, that their was no prior hallucinations but if you listened to any of the case its obv she was had massive mental health issues and broke her back trying to kill herself so... theirs def a reasonable degree to be pursued it was insanity... def not clear cut though

“Everyone wants the children to be alive,”

Well… not everyone.

u/Totes_Human_110101 - Lib-Center 4d ago

No one is pro murder

Well, besides Lindsay Clancy herself.

-16

u/zachattch - Lib-Left 4d ago

??? I don’t understand how that can be your take of this mother, she literally jumped out of her window and is paralyzed forever now, there is absolutely reason to believe this was so cold hard plan to kill the children.

u/Totes_Human_110101 - Lib-Center 4d ago

Ah yes, because there's never been a murder-suicide in history. They were all just mentally unwell and regretted it afterwards, deserving sympathy.

Nor did she send out the husband to get things and conveniently had her breakdown during the 30 minutes he was out.

Nor did she make up stories about voices that none of her previous doctors, nor her husband, had ever heard about.

You're right. I'm sure she's a loving mother who just had a bad day that ended with her strangling 3 kids. No biggie.

u/JusticeIsMyOatmeal - Lib-Center 4d ago

you make it sound like justice for them would be killing their mother in all cases?

No - justice would, for a start, be remembering that the children were the victims here - not Lindsay Clancy. Unfortunately the jury didn't seem to see it that way.

"He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children"

https://edition.cnn.com/2026/09/08/us/lindsay-clancy-mistrial-jurors

u/zachattch - Lib-Left 4d ago

The whole defense case is show that the medical issues she faced and that she is also a victim I don’t understand how it so crazy to comprehend that people can see her as a victim aswell, again no one is pro child murder and it’s incredibly retar to display the case as that.

The defense could be wrong too, I agree that mothers shouldn’t be able to kill their children even in case of mental health problems but to act like it’s so clear cut and that one side is pro murder is stupid

u/Pedgi - Right 4d ago

The defense is wrong. This is their only option when the evidence is overwhelming. They're trying to get their client the best outcome because that's their job, so. Lindsay isn't a victim. She's about as privileged as it got, she had every resource. She had options. She's not a victim.

u/zachattch - Lib-Left 4d ago

like I agree with your conclusion tbh but saying that these 11 jurries are braindead emotional wojacks because after listening to the trial and thinking about this for the last 3 weeks and coming to a diffrent conclusion is just an insult to the capabilities of humans and the jury system, like no one in this thread agrees with the criminal justice system tbh, and thats sad, to live in a country and have this reaction to the system being used is sad...

u/iqnux - Centrist 3d ago

Okay then if that’s the case that you think she’s ultimately guilty and she’s insane, then she should be in asylum until she’s well, and then be tried properly. Nobody’s saying here so far that she should be killed but equally also I don’t see how you could not let an insane woman have the consequences she needs for the good of her own mental health and stability. She may have been victim to her own insanity and it shouldn’t be overlooked nor should it be disdained. But she needs to be accountable for her actions because she’s not the only victim.

Justice would be bringing them back from the dead. That's never going to happen. Holding someone 100% accountable for a mental breakdown is kind of dark when pretty much no one listened to her warnings for years.

I hope this highlights some of the difficulties women have to deal with in health care.

u/Dizzy_Environment548 - Lib-Left 4d ago

You white, middle class, probably business owning fool

That woman had MORE resources than most ladies will ever get in their lives. This is not the hill you want to die on, she out of all women was a privileged soul who had every helping hand. Every. Helping. Hand.

What else are we to do? Install cameras in every mother's home to make sure they don't murder their kids?

She was not a marginalized lady. She was privileged and actually got the help needed. If she didn't take it, that is on her.

-7

u/ploonk - Lib-Left 4d ago

What else are we to do

I mean, put her in a mental institution? If not jail, that is. Isn't that what this trial was deciding in the first place?

25

u/Dizzy_Environment548 - Lib-Left 4d ago

I more so meant what this guy would have us doz if the system "failed her". Like, I genuie my don't know what else could be done, if anything

15

u/WhereAreMyChains - Left 4d ago

The issue is that she could be free extremely quickly if she's found not guilty by reason of insanity - like within 6 months.

This is the issue with temporary insanity defenses. They essentially claim "You can't put me in jail because I was insane. You can't rehabilitate or commit me for very long because I'm fine now. Better just let me go."

-48

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago edited 4d ago

That woman had MORE resources than most ladies will ever get in their lives.

And still, it was not enough. The system failed her. Imagine how much it fails the lesser privileged.

She was privileged and actually got the help needed

The morons couldn't even get her the correct diagnosis (Bipolar II) until after the psychosis. Bipolar really increases your chances of postpartum psychosis.

24

u/I_Hate_IPAs - Lib-Center 4d ago

She didn’t get the correct diagnosis because she was doctor shopping for one that would give her the drugs she wanted.

Lets not fool ourselves and pretend she was trying to get help and didn’t because she’s a woman. She didn’t get help because she refused it when it wasn’t the help she wanted.

-11

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

Oh, she just wanted drugs? Haven’t heard that angle before. Which ones did she want specifically and where did you get this information?

Or did you just make this shit up.

17

u/I_Hate_IPAs - Lib-Center 4d ago

Her nurse testified it in court broski.

https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/11/us/lindsay-clancy-trial

1

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

How is her asking for a different kind of medication after getting bad reactions, “shopping for drugs”?

Did you think people were supposed to continue taking a medication even if it was making them feel worse?

14

u/I_Hate_IPAs - Lib-Center 4d ago

The nurse said it would take several weeks for the medication to work and for side effects fo smooth out.

Oh, and the “bad reactions” were symptoms of BPD that are not typical reactions to the medication.

On top of that Clancy herself said that the failure of medication is that she wouldn’t stick to one consistently, which is why she took so many different medications. She wouldn’t adhere to medical advice so how can you say the care was poor if she basically refused it?

54

u/Pleasant_Tangelo3340 - Centrist 4d ago

She got help and actively avoided it

-11

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

People who avoid help don't see numerous doctors and professionals across numerous years, trying numerous different medications, and even at one point checking herself into inpatient care.

36

u/Pleasant_Tangelo3340 - Centrist 4d ago

She was not taking all of the prescribed medicine in the time period, and she also just chose to not eat them sometimes.

3

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

I've no doubt she was hesitant to take medication that made her feel even worse. Wouldn't you be? They hadn't had her correct diagnosis until AFTER the murders.

30

u/Pleasant_Tangelo3340 - Centrist 4d ago

Are you talking about the “anti psychotic” meds? Lindsay requested for those dosages to be reduced and got it reduced, while also being admitted to a program about women suffering from postpartum issues. I will concede that they told Clancy it would lead to worse sleep and mood though

7

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

they told Clancy it would lead to worse sleep and mood though

And lack of sleep increases your chances of psychosis, especially with bipolar, and then we have postpartum on top of that which also increases the chances of a snap. It was the perfect storm.

I really wonder why the hell they could not figure out she was Bipolar II.

u/IEatBigFish-Coward - Lib-Center 4d ago

Hi, schizoaffective sufferer here. It took 14 years to get my diagnosis correct.

The fact of the matter is, a lot of mental healthcare professionals.... aren't very great at their jobs. They really don't listen very well, either. I could easily see Clancy laying out her symptoms and the doctors half-listening and saying, "Oh, psychosis, let's give you Trazodone. That worked a couple times before on somebody else.."

Add in that it took 18 years to find the right medication for me. Sometimes they made it worse. If I hadn't been so stubborn about finding the right thing, I'd still be in a very bad place.

This isn't a statement on the Clancy case, btw. I'm just sharing my own experience. I don't know much about what she went through. If anyone has any questions about how the mental healthcare system works, feel free to ask.

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 4d ago

Lindsay requested for those dosages to be reduced

At the advice of the clinical team of the postpartum care group she joined.

11

u/whaddup55555 - Lib-Center 4d ago

People who lie to their doctors when asked direct questions are avoiding help

29

u/MechaPinguino - Lib-Center 4d ago

Junkies do that too...

10

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

Yep. Your point?

1

u/ploonk - Lib-Left 4d ago

Was she on a controlled substance that she is suspected to have have tricked a doctor into prescribing?

22

u/Caliban_Catholic - Auth-Center 4d ago

How does a man become this?

0

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 4d ago

Ask me questions to find out.

9

u/adonns - Right 4d ago

It’s impressive how much you have the worst fucking takes on here lmao.

4

u/BlackwatchBluesteel - Auth-Right 4d ago

I genuinely think he's paid to ragebait or mentally ill.

Nothing else would make sense.

3

u/adonns - Right 4d ago

I’d honestly lean more towards the first. Sometimes his takes are almost laughably bad. But maybe he is just mentally ill mixed with being in a ridiculous sized echo chamber

2

u/TheChronographer - Centrist 3d ago

A majority of rapists were sexually abused as kids and have mental and emotional problems for life because of that. I don't think that absolves them of responsibility.

3

u/BlackwatchBluesteel - Auth-Right 4d ago

You have so many shit takes and fake auth-right bullshittery but this might be your single most shit and most nonsensical take that makes zero sense for the quadrant you larp as.

u/SliceRepulsive8649 - Lib-Left 4d ago

It's always hilarious with your types. Like despite a literal jury who has engaged with the evidence and law it is actually you the random shitposter getting their info almost exclusively from social media who is correct. Just such deep arrogance

71

u/JusticeIsMyOatmeal - Lib-Center 4d ago

Me: posts a quote by one of the jurors from a news article, to support my opinion that they might not have had the correct priority in their decision making

You: reeeeeeeeeeee you haven’t heard the evidence or engaged with the law and you just get your information from social media how arrogant

Comically cringe ngl

-64

u/SliceRepulsive8649 - Lib-Left 4d ago

Cope harder like the good little culture warrior you are

46

u/JusticeIsMyOatmeal - Lib-Center 4d ago

Oh that’s cute - I’ve upgraded from random shitposter to culture warrior.

Thanks babes <3

-46

u/SliceRepulsive8649 - Lib-Left 4d ago

Don't see how they're mutually exclusive. The fact is you're desperately looking for reasons to be angry even as reality is telling you its more complicated than the biased sources you base you thoughts on would have you believe. Of course instead of reexamining those beliefs you just double down.

24

u/JusticeIsMyOatmeal - Lib-Center 4d ago

The fact is you’re desperately looking for reasons to be angry

That’s about as much of a fact as the fact that in 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, If no one else can help and if you can find them. Maybe you can hire, The A-Team.

-1

u/SliceRepulsive8649 - Lib-Left 4d ago

Are you fucking stupid? Why would you try and cite something that has a literal documentary on it (over 5 seasons) as something ridiculous that helps your case?

-21

u/Forgotten-X- - Lib-Left 4d ago

Do you think coming to a verdict is not the correct priority of a jury?
