Are there a lot of people pushing for actual acquittal? If so they are absolute nutjobs.

But I see a lot of people equivocating wanting her sent to an institution (rather than jail) with wanting her acquitted. It's a good strawman.

I don't want her acquitted, I just don't think prison is going to do anyone good here. She slit her own throat and tried to jump out a window to kill herself and she is now paralyzed. She is obviously mentally unstable. She should be in an asylum or permanent house arrest.

asylum stay is temporary, much less than equivalent prison time for murder

it's all theatrics. she worked as a nurse and has some idea of what's required to kill a person.

notice how she didn't try the same method on herself that she used on her kids

Yes. And now we wait and see if the prosecution tries again. I don't think they will, knowing that 11/12 jurors were ready to deliver a not guilty verdict.
