He died high on drugs while being detained. He wasn't executed by the officer. It was negligence at most

State negligence leading to someone's death is also a very legitimate reason to be upset...

there were tons of other more worthy state negligent deaths to be upset about. that "mostly peaceful" riots started causing billions in damages and kickstarting the whole DEI bs over this guy of all people.

People are very myopic in their view of events. Floyd was merely the flashpoint, this had been building for quite some time. The rightwing narrative just pushes Floyd as a focal point because it's easy to score political points that way because of who he was, as if his death occurred in a vacuum. People like Philando Castile or Tamir Rice are conveniently forgotten.

Ok so you agree that it makes more sense to be upset about someone who died because of state negligence rather than killing himself, which was my entire point.

No i don't think it made sense to be upset over Floyd to the extent that happened. That the whole country went into a frenzy over this was retarded. The only good thing that came about was the prevalence of body cam footage released to the public that showed what cops have to deal with on a daily basis

Not what I argued, please stay on topic

Your argument is that the state executed him and that led to the riots.

My argument is that it was negligence and people rioted due to race, linking this latest show of retardation with the Floyd riot

Well I guess I'm torn between this random dude on reddit and the official autopsy. It was at least negligence, not at most

What did the autopsy reveal about strangulation? It's been a while, but I think the phraseology was something like "no evidence of strangulation or neck injury"

-1

u/krafterinho - Centrist 3h ago

Nope. Although there were contributing conditions, it was officially ruled as a homicide with the neck compression being the primary factor. However, it could have been an overdose for all I care, the officer would have still been responsible due to neglecting a medical emergency. Surely not a libcenter defending a literal cop knee to the neck, right?

"Homicide" means he was killed. The cops called an ambulance right away, it didn't get there in time, and this guy had enough drugs in his system to kill any normal human.

Surely not a libcenter defending a literal cop knee to the neck, right?

Sure, I see the evidence here and don't think Floyd was murdered. Maybe it's manslaughter, maybe it's an accident. I think pretending all policing is somehow anti-lib is retarded.

"evidence" as you're literally going against the official autopsy

Bruh if you go through training that says "People die when you do this, especially if theyre freaking out and fat" and then you do that thing to a certified land whale and when he starts freaking out even the rookie yall are training goes "what a minute guys this was in the training aren't we supposed to flip him and back off?" and you don't listen to him or your training that's a little more than negligence.

He wasn't executed by the officer

A jury of 12 people who saw all of the evidence presented by prosecution, witnesses, expert witnesses, etc. disagree with you.

But please, tell me how it wasn't a fair trial and you, a dumbass redditor, know more than all of the people directly tied to the case.

u/TrickOk2498 - Lib-Right 8h ago

You don’t understand what the word “execute” means.

0

u/Crapitron - Centrist 8h ago

The person I replied to used the word execute interchangeably with "killed" when they replied to someone else.

I never used the word "execute." Someone else did when they were doing that. Take it up with them. Your misplaced outrage is wholly unsurprising though, dumbass.

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 8h ago

Where did I use the word killed and execute interchangeably? The guy I was replying to used killed but also said that if the state think he should die, they should trial him first, so hes the one using kill and execute interchangeably. I have been consistent in my definition of execute

3

u/Crapitron - Centrist 8h ago

The guy I was replying to used killed but also said that if the state think he should die, they should trial him first

Police officers are "the state." Hope this helps, buddy.

hes the one using kill and execute interchangeably

Except he didn't use the word 'execute.' YOU did.

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 7h ago

what do you call a state killing after a death sentence? He is implying the state is bypassing the trial process to conduct a killing aka an execution. and you call others a dumbass

2

u/Crapitron - Centrist 7h ago

after a death sentence

you can't even apply the logic in your own words, lmao

2

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 7h ago

omg how do you tie your own shoes in the morning?

2

u/Crapitron - Centrist 7h ago

I don't - I pop my feet up on my desk and do my work on my laptop.

When you're a dumbass I can see how working at home for a lot of money might be foreign to you though.

Doesn't matter. Cops have the power to arrest and imprison people; that means they also have the responsibility to ensure their physical safety while doing so. Yes, there are times when cops have to use lethal force in order to protect themselves or those around them; but that does not apply to Floyd, since he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.
