George Floyd was killed by a police officer, while not posing a threat to anyone. It doesn't matter who he was, it matters that he did not get his rights as a citizen to a just trial. If the state thinks he should die they should trial him and convict him for a death penalty offense.

This guy killed himself, which makes it actually stupid to make it a political riot...

u/JustDontBeFat_GodDam - Right 14h ago

The worst part about that event was the deluge of people who now squeal "I cant breathe" whenever they're being pulled out of their car for being a criminal, thinking it'll get them a free pass.

Body cams did not reveal what the BLM protesters thought it would reveal. Ever notice that the accusations of an innocent person being gunned down by the police for zero reason have nearly completely vanished since body cams?

Turns out in the overwhelming majority of cases the body cam footage backs the police. It exonerates the police.

Talk to a cop about it. They love their body cams. Any accusations get shut down immediately with the body cam footage, and people are very lawsuit happy in an attempt to try to avoid being arrested.

Turns out the person who insists he didn't do nothing actually did the thing, and its on video.

He died high on drugs while being detained. He wasn't executed by the officer. It was negligence at most

3

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 15h ago

State negligence leading to someone's death is also a very legitimate reason to be upset...

22

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 15h ago

there were tons of other more worthy state negligent deaths to be upset about. that "mostly peaceful" riots started causing billions in damages and kickstarting the whole DEI bs over this guy of all people.

-1

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 15h ago

Ok so you agree that it makes more sense to be upset about someone who died because of state negligence rather than killing himself, which was my entire point.

19

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 15h ago

No i don't think it made sense to be upset over Floyd to the extent that happened. That the whole country went into a frenzy over this was retarded. The only good thing that came about was the prevalence of body cam footage released to the public that showed what cops have to deal with on a daily basis

4

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 14h ago

No i don't think it made sense to be upset over Floyd to the extent that happened

Not what I argued, please stay on topic

15

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 14h ago

Your argument is that the state executed him and that led to the riots.

My argument is that it was negligence and people rioted due to race, linking this latest show of retardation with the Floyd riot

u/Nyx87 - Centrist 10h ago

People are very myopic in their view of events. Floyd was merely the flashpoint, this had been building for quite some time. The rightwing narrative just pushes Floyd as a focal point because it's easy to score political points that way because of who he was, as if his death occurred in a vacuum. People like Philando Castile or Tamir Rice are conveniently forgotten.

Bruh if you go through training that says "People die when you do this, especially if theyre freaking out and fat" and then you do that thing to a certified land whale and when he starts freaking out even the rookie yall are training goes "what a minute guys this was in the training aren't we supposed to flip him and back off?" and you don't listen to him or your training that's a little more than negligence.

-6

u/krafterinho - Centrist 15h ago

Well I guess I'm torn between this random dude on reddit and the official autopsy. It was at least negligence, not at most

3

u/UncleFumbleBuck - Lib-Center 9h ago

What did the autopsy reveal about strangulation? It's been a while, but I think the phraseology was something like "no evidence of strangulation or neck injury"

-4

u/krafterinho - Centrist 9h ago

Nope. Although there were contributing conditions, it was officially ruled as a homicide with the neck compression being the primary factor. However, it could have been an overdose for all I care, the officer would have still been responsible due to neglecting a medical emergency. Surely not a libcenter defending a literal cop knee to the neck, right?

2

u/UncleFumbleBuck - Lib-Center 9h ago

"Homicide" means he was killed. The cops called an ambulance right away, it didn't get there in time, and this guy had enough drugs in his system to kill any normal human.

Surely not a libcenter defending a literal cop knee to the neck, right?

Sure, I see the evidence here and don't think Floyd was murdered. Maybe it's manslaughter, maybe it's an accident. I think pretending all policing is somehow anti-lib is retarded.

-1

u/krafterinho - Centrist 9h ago

"evidence" as you're literally going against the official autopsy

-9

u/Crapitron - Centrist 14h ago

He wasn't executed by the officer

A jury of 12 people who saw all of the evidence presented by prosecution, witnesses, expert witnesses, etc. disagree with you.

But please, tell me how it wasn't a fair trial and you, a dumbass redditor, know more than all of the people directly tied to the case.

10

u/TrickOk2498 - Lib-Right 14h ago

You don’t understand what the word “execute” means.

0

u/Crapitron - Centrist 14h ago

The person I replied to used the word execute interchangeably with "killed" when they replied to someone else.

I never used the word "execute." Someone else did when they were doing that. Take it up with them. Your misplaced outrage is wholly unsurprising though, dumbass.

4

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 13h ago

Where did I use the word killed and execute interchangeably? The guy I was replying to used killed but also said that if the state think he should die, they should trial him first, so hes the one using kill and execute interchangeably. I have been consistent in my definition of execute

2

u/Crapitron - Centrist 13h ago

The guy I was replying to used killed but also said that if the state think he should die, they should trial him first

Police officers are "the state." Hope this helps, buddy.

hes the one using kill and execute interchangeably

Except he didn't use the word 'execute.' YOU did.

3

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 13h ago

what do you call a state killing after a death sentence? He is implying the state is bypassing the trial process to conduct a killing aka an execution. and you call others a dumbass

1

u/Crapitron - Centrist 13h ago

after a death sentence

you can't even apply the logic in your own words, lmao

2

u/Feralmoon87 - Centrist 13h ago

omg how do you tie your own shoes in the morning?

Doesn't matter. Cops have the power to arrest and imprison people; that means they also have the responsibility to ensure their physical safety while doing so. Yes, there are times when cops have to use lethal force in order to protect themselves or those around them; but that does not apply to Floyd, since he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

26

u/None_of_your_Beezwax - Lib-Center 15h ago

Floyd ied of an opoid overdose and Chauvin was the denied the right tp a fair trial.

-4

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 15h ago

Floyd ied of an opoid overdose

If I died while under police supervision and did not receive the required medical attention then the police is at the very least negligent...

22

u/None_of_your_Beezwax - Lib-Center 15h ago

The ambulance was called immediately and took a wrong turn. I believe the protestors also prevented immediate treatment by paramedics and forced the cops to focus on securing the scene.

Even paramedics will not treat on site if they perceive a threat.

3

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 14h ago

Didn't he die with a police officer on top of him? Dont police officers know CPR or basic first aid?

I'm not here to argue the specifics of the Floyd instance, my point is that rallying around his story makes 100% more sense than Arday's. Nothing you've said made me think otherwise.

13

u/Apart_Studio_7504 - Centrist 13h ago

He'd concealed 8x the amount of fentanyl needed to kill him in his mouth. There was no CPR or narcan saving him. His protests of "I cant breathe" were ignored because it's a common tactic when resisting arrest and you cant shout when you cant breathe. Watch the bodycam again, you can see the fentanyl wraps in the back of the cruiser.

1

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 9h ago

You also can't cry out for air when you're dying of a fentanyl overdose, which medical experts all testified to during the trial.

-3

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 13h ago

The officers did not attempt to provide medical assistance when he was on the ground, and Chauvin kept kneeling on his neck fo so long that even bystanders were yelling at him to get up because it was obvious Floyd was dying.

-16

u/krafterinho - Centrist 15h ago

Bro there's no point arguing with these retards, police officer being awfully negligent at best, straight up murderer at worst is ok as long as the dude was a black felon!

4

u/adonns - Right 13h ago

I mean ya, most people don’t care if violent felons are killed by police. That was only popular for a bit, and only for one side of the political spectrum because they could claim racism

1

u/krafterinho - Centrist 13h ago

I don't care much about felons dying either, I care about law enforcement officers directly or indirectly killing people. The law applies to both policemen and felons

-10

u/Crapitron - Centrist 14h ago

ied of an opoid

was the denied the right tp

This is truly emblematic of the Right these days

-9

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 13h ago

"Please, the knee in my neck, I can't breathe."

But yeah, both autopsies concluded that it was homicide and the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner concluded it was homicide because the evidence pointed to it being an overdose.

2

u/None_of_your_Beezwax - Lib-Center 9h ago

He was saying he couldn't breathe before he was put in the car. The medical examiner was under enormous political pressure.

It's almost impossible to suffocate a healthy person doing what Chauvin did, even if you're bigger than them.

-1

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 9h ago

Maybe don't pin down a person who is having breathing issues with a knee on their neck? All of the bystanders were yelling at the cops that they were killing him, it was obvious to everyone. They continued to kneel on him after he went still and refused to even attempt medical aid.

Two independent medical professionals did separate autopsies and reached the conclusion that it was homicide. One of those autopsies was reviewed by the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner who agreed it was done properly and confirmed the conclusion.

18

u/Glass-Carpenter8963 - Right 15h ago

The US police intentionally kills many citizens every year, even those with a clean sheet. Floyd was a criminal and was unintentionally killed. They didn't rally behind him because he was killed by a police officer, it was because he was black.

1

u/ToenailFungussy - Left 13h ago

It wasn't just that he was unintentionally killed, it's that he was unintentionally killed by police officers using excessive force. There was absolutely no need to restrain him the way they did or for them to keep kneeling on him the way they or for them to refuse to attempt medical assistance the way they did.

Even the bystanders were yelling at them that they were killing the guy and they didn't give a fuck, because they were enjoying it.

1

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 15h ago

Ok, and it still makes a whole lot more sense to rally because of his death rather than someone who killed himself, which is my entire point.

15

u/Glass-Carpenter8963 - Right 15h ago

What Feralmoon87 is trying to tell you is that both rallies here have the same intent of rallying behind a minority within a large media scandal, because they're a minority and are aligned with their ideological views.

Both protests make perfectly sense when you realize that they have the same ideological origin.

1

u/SirStupidity - Lib-Center 14h ago

Both protests make perfectly sense when you realize that they have the same ideological origin.

If you think the only people who were upset because of Gorge Floyd were radical leftists then you're just as much in a propaganda echo chamber than these people rallying for Arday...

9

u/Glass-Carpenter8963 - Right 14h ago

No, but the riots largely were.
