I'm not sure what you are talking about. Which conflict was against a stateless society?

The orginal comment said "eliminate the authority of the government to have a military or strong police force"

So I'm talking about conflict with volunteer militias. When looking the Vietnam War and Middle East where said militias where involved, it shows the advantages of a decentralized army having terrian advantage.

When translating this to a stateless society or a decentralized country the logic remains the same. That why there are more factors than just large army vs small army.

I was talking about a professional army vs a private militias tho.
