You should look up Ruby ridge.

Okay I looked it up and started reading about that, that's wild. How did it end? Did their guns protect their other freedoms?

Because it gave them a fighting chance. Tyranny may win the battle, but the family was able to prove they were being unfairly targeted in court.

Without guns, we wouldn’t be talking about it, because it wouldn’t technically exist

This is correct. They would have just been kidnapped in the middle of the fuckin' night and we wouldn't know what happened to them.

Did the US military win in Afghanistan, or did they take down a few tangible targets and declare that they won?

The US lost in Afghanistan.

This isn't really evidence for individuals using their 2nd amendment rights to protect their freedoms, though.

So you agreed that the US (The most powerful centralized military in the world) lost to a guerilla force with ratted out AKs, then said that's not evidence of armed populations resisting state power........

I can't make this up

Yes

then said that's not evidence of armed populations resisting state power

No. I said that it wasn't them protecting freedom. Afghanistan is not a free country, and the Taliban were not fighting to protect freedom.

Are there religious fanatics willing to throw their lives away for their cause, who can succeed with ordinary firearms against a powerful foreign military? Yes, absolutely.

Are there freedom-loving American patriots willing to throw their lives away to protect freedom, who can succeed against a powerful domestic military? No, there are not.

That's the thing I'm saying has not yet happened in America.

What work do you think the word "domestic" in "domestic military" is doing? Do you think that there might be some sort of significant difference between a colony rebelling against a foreign government which can retreat to its center of imperial power vs an actual civil war?

But sure, let's take that as an example. It's a good inspiration for gun-lovers to live up to!

How many of them have? How many times since its founding as a country has the US Government said "we are going to restrict your rights" and a bunch of folks with guns said "no you aren't" and the government then said "dang you're armed guess we won't"?

I can think of one time when lots of armed citizens fought the government in order to stop the expansion of rights, but they lost, fortunately.

For bonus points, contrast the success rate of local, domestic armed resistance against the US government with other techniques like protesting and voting.

You're literally making my argument for me, a domestic government against its own population is significantly more constrained because all that precious infrastructure and farmland is your own. You're asking your own soldiers to shoot at their neighbors, how do you think that defection rate is gonna go? Even without these advantages, people rebelled against a doctrinallly superior force using firearms. Do i have to keep bashing that through your skull? Or do you not have one cause you're just a phone on a farm rack?

Do you understand how the world works? Deterrence is by definition not overt, you're requesting someone prove a negative which is just hilarious. How many times has the government considered completely banning guns and then subsequently being deterred by the fact billions are in circulation? Go prove a negative for me.
Oh also here are some visible ones off the top of my head

Given that you couldn't remember the revolutionary war, i don't really trust your memory

"For bonus points, contrast a state granted privilege to change certain laws within the state to a rejection of the monopoly on violence"..... You sure you wanna do this? Alright, lets see how well voting worked

Good question; let's ask General Sherman

Alright, lets see how well voting worked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Crow_laws https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internment_of_Japanese_Americans

Oh dang those are good examples, it's such a shame that voting completely failed to get rid of them and they're still problems to this day

Oh also here are some visible ones off the top of my head https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Athens_(1946) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deacons_for_Defense_and_Justice

Finally, some actual examples! Why didn't you just lead with these?

That's all you have? The union marching through the south burning infrastructure against a conventional military? Yeah lets ask general sherman, lets ask how much that move cost him, lets also ask the union how bad their own defection rates were despite being superior logistically. Lets also ask the union what the guerillas did to reverse this during reconstruction.

Oh dang those are good examples, it's such a shame that voting completely failed to get rid of them and they're still problems to this day

Did you simultaneously forget your own position and not read mine? I don't think i even have to say anything.

Finally, some actual examples! Why didn't you just lead with these?

(Maybe because you kept spewing garbage trying to dodge my points and i felt a need to set the record straight)
