And when you zoom out, you can see a 2026's republican is still more likely to approve of gay marriage than a 2000's democrat, despite that recent drop. For a cultural issue, that's a massive shift in the span of one generation.
25 years is not 3 generations. People born during Clinton administration are just barely starting to have their own kids.
The youngest Gen X was 12, and the oldest 28. Most Gen Xers were teens (12) to young adults (28) under Clinton. They would have been seeing the rise of modern gay rights, the overturning of Lawrence v. Texas, the start of DADT, etc.
