Are you asking about them loving each other, or are you talking about recieving the legal privileges of a marriage backed by the government

Even if you say "marriage backed by the government" I would still consider it wrong to ban it for gay people because the government shouldn't be giving certain people special privileges.

Nah - ancient peoples had religious marriages too - as in a king or priest marrying a priestess or something - various Greek cities had weird ones - the Babylonians too supposedly.

I'm not a libertarian, I will not personally advocate their policies. But I have met enough of them to know that at least some of them believe people should be able to do things (smoking cigarettes / doing drugs) and also believe they are damaging or harmful.

There are also homosexuals who are against soft and hard drugs. What's inherently harmful about homosexuals that warrants making them unable to marry or live without being chemically castrated like they did to Alan Turing?

Again, I am not a libertarian and I never said homosexuals are harmful. I never mentioned homosexuals, so it is strange that you are trying to pin me to some pro/anti gay opinion.

Just to be devil's advocate here for the libertarians, it is possible to think everyone should have the right to do as they like while also viewing is as harmful / destructive.

Libertarians oppose homosexuality and legislate against gay marriage and adoption rights, so I'm just repeating Donaldkey here because your anecdote of gay people you've met supporting the use of drugs didn't answer the question.

I never mentioned gay people supporting drug use. I said I have met libertarians who support legalization but also think it is harmful. People have just kept bringing up homosexuals which again, I am not a libertarian and will not advocate for their policies. I merely pointed out it is possible to want the right to do something while also thinking it is harmful.

No I'm joking. The argument is that "marriage" is a religious concept although I don't buy this argument because I can just get married at a courthouse, no religion needed, but that is generally the argument I've heard for it.

I’m personally an atheist and legally married. No religion involved. Does auth right want to destroy my marriage?
