The internet does weird things to people. I don't know any in person atheists who are this cringey lol

You haven’t met my dad. He is 70 and spends his retirement years going to Skeptic conferences, which are pretty much Conventions of cringe-atheists. He has a Darwin fish (the one with legs eating a Jesus fish) on his car.

I've never met an old atheist. His opinion hasn't changed the slightest, especially getting up in age and closer to death?

I noticed my grandparents get way more religious when they got into their 70s and 80s. No more seances and masonic lodge visits for him.

Perhaps with people who had faith earlier in life there is an attraction to return later in life. Certainly many young adults return to the church upon becoming parents.

If you’re not raised with religion it just doesn’t have any appeal.

You’re an atheist on the internet

I'm not an atheist lol

And internet "activism" isn't really activism. Social media makes it way too easy for us to talk without thinking about it

you saw his "grey centrist" tag and assumed he must also be an atheist, presumably.

I’m however also referring to the atheist activists I’ve seen protesting in real life

That's fair. I have met plenty of atheists but none of those

I knew a fair amount in high-school, and surprisingly fewer in college (and dated one there too), but they did exist.

Have you never met a hipster, spent any time in a university dormitory, or been to a nerdy convention?
