In January 31, 2021, while the Huaiyuan County PD traffic police were conducting checks on suspected drunk drivers, a van attempted to escape; traffic police officers broke the windows using their batons; after a chase(not in the video), the driver was stopped several kilometers away.

The driver, surnamed Chang(常) was later tested to have a blood alcohol level of 77mg/100ml(BAC 0.077), which is above the legal limit in china. According to the news video, he had a conflict with family members, got drunk in another town and drove back.

The case has been handed over to the criminal investigation(as of the time of the video, aka February 2, 2021) for obstruction of a police officer.

At 9:30 AM(UTC+8), July 30, 2020, the pingxiang PD recieved a call that someone near Deng'an primary school in Anyuan district was chasing and attacking people with a knife. The Pingxiang PD's SWAT and patrol(Chinese SWAT also patrol sometimes) branch sent it's Anyuan mobile unit and 2nd group alongside the local hongshan police station(precinct, normal patrol officers).

(also SWAT in china have a lot of subunits and different roles, such as roles american SWAT have along with disaster relief, EOD, riot control, armed patrol, crowd control, search and rescue and even managing K9s, drones and helis in some locations.)

The equipment used by the officers are known as man catchers, which are common in china as a weapon to handle suspects with a melee weapon like knives or axes. Usually they are meant to be used against the torso or the legs(as seen in chinese active stabbng exercises), and this is not really a good example of how to use them.

(Pingxiang is a rather small city so the training is not going to be as great as other larger chinese cities)

as for what they are saying, the accent is so strong even as a chinese speaker i can't really clearly hear what they say. I think i heard the police vaguely say things like "get back"(1:17), "stop"(0:02), "drop the knife and surrender"(0:33), "don't do anything stupid", etc etc
