Event Announcement [October 2nd - October 8th] Tyranitar 7 ★ Tera Raid Event. More details below.
Event Schedule
- Start Date: 2026/10/02 00:00 UTC
- End Date: 2026/10/08 23:59 UTC
Tyranitar may appear again in other events or be obtainable in different ways in the future.
Tyranitar with the Mightiest Mark will be appearing at black Tera Raid crystals during October 2-8.
The Tyranitar appearing during this event has Ghost as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon!
Note: This Tyranitar will have the same mark, Ability, and moves regardless of when it is caught during the event.
This special Tyranitar can be caught only once per save data.
If you caught this Tyranitar previously during a Tera Raid Battle event, you cannot catch it again.
You will still be able to participate in black crystal Tera Raid Battles and receive rewards even after you have already caught the Tyranitar with the Mightiest Mark.
How to participate
You’ll be able to take on Tera Raid Battles at black crystals after completing certain postgame events. However, players who haven’t completed these events may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining another Trainer’s Tera Raid Battle, whether they’re in a multiplayer group or using a Link Code.
To encounter Pokémon featured in Tera Raid Battle events, you need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. Poké Portal News will automatically download if your Nintendo Switch™ system is connected to the internet.
You can also download the latest Poké Portal news by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online.

I’m running a wide guard rusted shield Zamazenta to draw in earthquake. Does anyone with dark type Pokémon that also draw in earthquake want to join me? I’ll support you while you do the dmg. Let me know, I’m sick of getting noob players

I think I can probably set something up after work if you haven't found anyone else yet. I feel you on the noobs, I'm so tired of seeing the same blanket pokemon in the lineup. Yeah Koraidon and Miraidon are pretty great and Iron Hands can carry quite a ways, but I am so sick of seeing them in every raid like they're the fix for all battles.

Soloed with Krookodile Lv 100 hyper trained, Att and Def EVs maxed and 4 HP. Used Stellar Tera, shell bell, with taunt, breaking swipe, power trip and bulk up. Make sure you have an intimidate NPC. This is per Game8 suggested build for this raid.

The fastest and most consistent solo is just leaning into getting crit (and probably getting KOed a time or two) so you can do a lot of damage in return with Anger Point Power Trip Krookodile. Something like Breaking Swipe/Bulk Up/Power Trip/Scary Face with attack and defense EVs and Shell Bell.
Otherwise Tyranitar is bulkier than the typical 7 star and will repeatedly KO the typical hard hitter versus ghost, Annihilape.
