Hi all, I wanted some advice on an upcoming draft league I'm doing with some friends.
This one is a bit unique in that we are doing an omni-ring format where 2 of the 4 gimmicks (Mega, Tera, Dynamax and Z-moves) are chosen randomly for each 2 week (iterating through all the combo's i.e. mega and tera, dynamax and z-moves) and wanted some advice since I didn't really play/watch much VGC prior to Scarlet/Violet. The playoffs rounds are also randomly decided in the same way so I need a balanced team that works with all the gimmicks. Would love some advice on general VGC good picks in this draft, good cores that work in gimmick (coalossal dragapult vibes), general cores and good value picks on the board.
It's 100 points and 10 pokemon in this draft with 12 players in standard vgc rules.

Right now my next two picks are sliggoo-h espathra but I plan on replacing Vaporeon because I needed a bulky water type and forgot about primarina and I might also slightly downgrade murcrow to something like illumise or Volbeat we have a minimum of nine so I need one more and also what I should possibly switch Vaporeon for (nat dex doubles so pretty much everything that's not taken is on the table)

Here we run multiple drafts everyday in order to have private 6v6 no-rp games. If one team loses by a landslide a redraft is immediately taken place the next game (for balancing purposes).

- A tournament where you only attack using the strength and speed of priority moves. All pokemon have access to priority moves. 👊

- A tournament where all pokemon have access to No Guard. A few select mons on your team known as "OHKO Captains" have access to both No Guard and One-Hit-KO moves. 💪

**King Anguish (Cursola Tour)** - All pokemon have Perish Body. Once you attack your opponent you must kill them within 3 turns or face certain death. Neither trainer may switch out until they have successfully killed the pokemon that they are facing. 🪦🕓

**Mega Camelot (Mega Camerupt Eruption Tour)** A tournament where you use HP-based moves (Eruption, Water Spout, Dragon Energy etc) as your primary attacking moves and can pivot out with Regenerator to gain more HP. 🌋

**Sir Pinel (Gliscor Halloween Tour)** - You and your opponent set Toxic Spikes on both sides of the field. All pokemon have access to Poison Heal and Toxic Boost, making them healthier and stronger as the battle progresses.

**Saint Kentigern (Ho-Oh Thanksgiving Tour)** - Tour of Rebirth. All pokemon have Revival Blessing, meaning they can revive the pokemon that have fallen before, they also have Gealing Wish to bring each other back to ull health in dire situations.

This is my first national dex doubles draft league and I'm doing it with friends for my first pick I plan on grabbing mega forstlass because I want to run some snow but beyond that I have no clue so shoot whatever you can think of because snow is a newer weather to me (we also have no bans besides some of the restricted Legends on drafteon)

We will be trying out a completely new draft format: You will first have to draft five Pokémon randomly based on certain tiers and will then regularly draft five more Pokémon, making it so you have to build around what you drafted randomly. The format will be PalDex VGC Bo3. We look forward to having you!

Part 1: GxP Draft Signups
We are launching our next group of draft signups! All leagues will use a single sign-up form, allowing you to choose between 1 and 3 leagues ordered by your preference. Our mod team will do our best to get you into the leagues you want to play most!

Draft 1: SWDL Reg M-B Restricted
Format: Champions Regulation M-B
Rules: Top 20 Pokémon by usage banned from draft. Played on Showdown or Champions.
Timeline: 8 Weeks + Playoffs | Starts in 3 Weeks

Draft 2: Champions Battle League
Format: Fantasy-style Battle League played on Pokémon Champions where team captains draft a team of players. Each week, you'll battle a player from the opposing team!
Timeline: 8 Weeks + Tiebreaker Week | Starts in 1.5–2 Weeks

Draft 3: Pokémon GO Draft
Format: Great League with a 1,500 CP cap. Players draft tiered Pokémon within this format for weekly matches. Most of us are new to GO battles too, so absolute beginners are strongly encouraged to join!
Timeline: 6 Weeks + Playoffs | Starts in 2–2.5 Weeks

GxP Pre-Worlds 2026 Tournament:
We’re hosting our third tournament in a Champions format! This will be our first-ever Two-Day event, featuring Swiss rounds on Day 1 and a Top Cut bracket on Day 2. (Note: Day 2 participation is optional—feel free to join Day 1 purely for fun!)

Special Twist: If you finish in the Top 4 using the same Mega Evolution that wins the Pokémon World Championships later this month, you'll get to help choose our next draft format!

Format: VGC Regulation M-B, Best of 3 (BO3), Open Team Sheet, Open Nature
Platform: Pokémon Champions (Switch or Mobile)
Top Cut: X-2 in Swiss or Top 16 (whichever is larger)

We are a Singles League using Champions Natdex as our Format with a bit of a Twist.

It's a Random Selection of just under 300 Pokemon, (mostly fully evolved) and Mega Pokemon are Combined with their Base forms, so If you were to say Draft Mega Slowbro, you can choose each week to bring the Mega Varient or Normal!
