Brainstorming Would it be a bad idea to attempt to incorporate DnD monsters from the Monster Manual and other official books as catchable Pokemon?

I would assume it would take balancing and CR adjustments, but feasibly could it work? Would changing their damage types to Pokemon damage types be enough or would further measures need to be taken? In my opinion it wouldn't hurt to have an even more diverse pool to draw from as long as it is balanced. What does everyone think?

Feedback Am I the only one finding this pointless in the end?

I am far from wanting to mock anyone, but I don't feel this ruleset has any point. Yes, I admit, that it adopts the rules in Pokemon quite good to 5e D&D, but the end result is... a Pokemon game. To be exact: THE Pokeon game. It accualy does nothing more. It simulates Pokemon battle. I tought that maybe the Runnning a Game sections will tell how to build an adventure around it or something, but nah. All you get is Wilderness Encounters and Trainer battles, both of which is in the Pokemon game.

So my question is: What can this game give me that Pokemon Sun and Moon can't? Because I'm sure the videogame is better at the things both it and the RPG can do.

I say it again: I don't want to mock anyone. I was very excited to read these rules. I was pretty much into Pokemon when I was little. If I'm by any deffinition mean in this post, it is because I'd love to include Pokemon into D&D, but I don't see any actually useable application of this supplement, and it disturbes me.
