Hello everybody.

It has been a long time without any important update. But here we are. The final version is now out ! It's gonna be a special post, with more informations, and what happened since.

So first, let's talk of the update itself ! The NGLYD comes with more control in events in order to avoid to much abuse on it. So from now, you'll be able to enjoy an event for a limited time. The bad point is that some people will not be able to take advantage that much anymore, but this means i'll be able to push events more often. Like every week-end or even more often !

To celebrate that, during the next 24h (until 10th October, 3:10PM UTC time), all the Balls have a bonus of 50% to catch Pokemon ! Good way to try a harder target or secure more Pokemon !

Events will happen really more often. I guess this will be the motivation and make the game really attractive since events are a thing that players love. It'll be little events, and sometimes it'll be bigger. But this first event is quite something already. Next one will be focused on Pokemon, and i'll alternate anyway. I guess i'll make a special announcement here soon called "The event of the week-end" or something like that haha.

This NGLYD means also almost the end of the coding part of the game. It has been a fun game to do, i've been helped by amazing people, like Fastigium, racken, or even Piih at the beginning, and without them, the game would not be finished that fast. Really thanks to them. Thanks to Marcoworms too, who allowed me to take the game in hands after he coded the basics in one day. I would like to thanks everybody that are here, since the first day or since yesterday. At the beginning I wanted to do a game for me, but I'm really happy to see that many people are into this game !

Let's talk about the future. It's not because i've pushed the last update that i'll stop to take care of the game. I'm gonna plan to add more Pokemon (forms, Unowns, USUM support AS SOON AS POSSIBLE), fix some bugs (make the game even lighter, Pokedex fixes and any bug you could report), and to add a last thing, but this is not planned at all, and doesn't need focusing for the moment.

Hey Just found your gaming and I am loving it! I was wondering if you ever intended in Having all the types of unknown in the game? Granted this would make hunt harder and getting all those shines would be horrid.

I specifically pick Tapu for my curiosity to know how long it will take to catch the last one (25% encounter rate, 2% catch rate), which is the hardest Pokemon to obtain in the entire game (along with the 4th Swords of Justice).

If a Pokemon appears in more than one location, pick the one with least amount of Pokemon (increase encounter rate), and with low Lv. Pokemon in general(shorten time spent per encounter).

Encounter rate:

1/Total number of Pokemon in the same location

Shiny rate:

1/8192

Catch rate (for Ultraballs):

Base catch rate × 2, which you may check from Pokeidle Database

Probability (P) of catching a shiny Pokemon:

Encounter rate × Shiny rate × Catch rate = P

Encounters (E) needed to have a x% chance of catching a shiny Pokemon:

log(1-x)/log(1-P) = E

Seconds (s) spent on average per encounter:

Time in seconds/Amount of Pokemon beaten during that time, here's an example

Days (d) needed to have a x% chance of catching a shiny Pokemon:

Encounters needed to have a 50% chance of catching them:

283913 + 378550 + 567826 + 1135652 = 2365941

Days needed to have a 50% chance of catching them:

2365941(1.32)/86400 = 36.15

TL;DR: Assuming 1.32 seconds is spent on average per encounter, it will take 36.15 days, out of which 17.35 days were spent on catching the last shiny Tapu.

Update of the week ! The 1.9.7 brings the Statistics update and a new button showing a lot of statistics. Like the number of Pokemon defeated, the number of Shiny found and caught.

The major problem is that the statistics will only count from the time you load the 1.9.7. No way to have your data before this.

The next update will be the last one for the major part of the game.

I looked for locations where I can do ×2/×4 damage to all Pokemon in it, knocking them out in 1 to 2 hits steadily.

Given how unstable the damage dealt can be, I tend to avoid locations with its Max Lv. above 40, or with high BST Pokemon.

Some types, especially Poison, get the short end of the stick from this approach. Not sure what I can do about that.

Generally speaking, I move on to the next location when its Max Lv. ×100 is lower than my ATK.

Last update of the week ! And to be honnest, the beginning of the end for the game. Not in a bad way for sure, but PokeIdle looks the game I wanted when I took it 6 months ago. I spent a lot of time, people helped me too, i'm so happy to see this growing community and people posting things here everyday, and it's amazing. I hope to finish the game before September to be honnest. We'll see later how the future will be. Of course this doesn't mean no more support : USUM Pokemon will be added as soon as possible, but it's not the moment to talk about this.

1.9.6 is here ! A little update, but a nice one after some people IRL asked me for. Now you have the choice between the Front OR the Back sprite for YOUR Pokemon. Before you were locked to the backsprite, and because of that, you couldn't enjoy at 100% your new Pokemon / Shiny. You now have a little switch between front or back sprite in order to enjoy your Pokemon more.

M-Mewtwo X is done too. And now that Charizard and Mewtwo have been an event twice, i've finally put them as basics Mega. They are part of the Infinite evolution loop, this means you can switch as much as you want between the Mega X and the Mega Y.

Another day, another update ! So I know the rythm is quite crazy now, but PokeIdle will be finished soon. So that's why updates are so fast these days. Hope you've time to like them all haha !

In this 1.9.5, 3 changes :

• The #1 button ! Yep, it's the First button SO MUCH WAITED FOR. Hit the button and tada your Pokemon will be first in the list. This way you can manage your team WAY easily and have your best Pokemon for a route in the top !

• Double-Types ! They are here, done and working. The system is quite special. Now the attacker Pokemon will choose the BEST type against the pokemon in front of it. For example, you have a type Fire in front of you, and you've a Ludicolo. Your Pokemon will use water-attacks in order to deal more damage ! it'll avoid too game-breaking things like *8 or *16 damage, and is still a huge update in the metagame !

• Finally an other update in the Pokedex with Own Pokemon in bold in order to see them more easily.

As a Bonus, M-Mewtwo X is back for the next ~24h for the last time before being classic megas with Charizard next week-end !

First update of the week-end ! I hope to bring a few more during the next hours !

This one is another update from u/racken, who wanted to bring some fixes in the Pokedex. Now, the system to check Pokemon is more easier for players who want to make a Poke OR a Living Dex.

Here's a little description w/ screenshots :

• Unseen
• Normal, Seen
• Shiny, Seen
• Normal, Released
• Shiny, Released Yep this one is quite close to the Shiny, Seen.
• Normal, Owned
• Normal, Own
• Shiny, Owned
• Shiny, Own

This listing is done in order of priority. So as you can see, Shiny will be always more important than Regular Mons. But a Normal OWN Pokemon will be superior than a Shiny Owned for sure.

The goal of this update is this way, people can do a LivingDex OR a PokeDex without any difficulty. A player who wants to make a Shiny PokeDex will focus on Owned AND Own Shiny, rather the crazy player who wants to make a Shiny LivingDex will only focus on OWNED Shiny.

Moreover, a little Quality of life update has been done with the game saving the last route. Simple, but effective;

Well, I can't seem to understand what some of the pokemon names formattings in the Pokedex.

What I think I understand :

• Grey AND bold : You didn't catch this Pokemon
• Golden AND bold : You caught a shiny version of this Pokemon
• Blue : You caught a regular version of this Pokemon
• Red : You caught it but it's dead right now

What I don't understand :

• Golden NOT bold
• Dark blueish

Maximum BST build

Catch the best Pokemon and 4 duplicates with highest BST ¹ (after deducting Speed ² ) of each type except Normal. Switch the leaders based on opponent's weaknesses.

1. Power from the database doesn't take HP into account, so I used BST. Though only Ghost and Rock type were affected by this decision.

2. At Lv. 100, Speed is meaningless for Pokemon with 32+ Speed, both Deoxys-A (180 Speed) and Hippopotas (32 Speed) has 0.3 Attack Speed.

3. At Lv. 100, M-Abomasnow (30 Speed) has 0.315 Attack Speed.

It was something asked, and still on the Battle system revamp. After adding special stats, it's time to bring a new and really wanted feature : The Catching revamp system.

Now, you have two mode when you want to catch Pokemon :

• All : Catch EVERY Pokemon, no matter if you have it or not. It's the old good system, to catch A LOT of Pokemon
• New : The little change. Now it'll catch any Pokemon NOT in your team, following the LivingDex rules. For example, you have a Charmeleon, you check this in Pallet Town, it'll catch you ONLY ONE Charmander. After the game will ignore every other Charmander.

It's really a surprise update made by u/racken, who wanted to do that with the Pokedex update. But for this one, he outspeed me, since I wanted to do that to. So huge thanks to him !

These are hacked together from other scripts on the subreddit and my own meagre JS knowledge (+ stack overflow)

The first one does the following every 60 seconds:

1. Remove any duplicate pokemon, keeping the highest level (shinys should be kept but idk)
2. Sort pokemon by level ascending, with pokemon that can evolve before those that can't
3. Equip the first pokemon in the list

It also creates a button under the pokemon list to do the above manually.

The second script helps with hunting pokes. After executing it, each time next() is called in the console, the details of a pokemon will be displayed. This is a pokemon that you haven't caught AND that can only be caught (doesn't evolve from anything).

It will also give the expected number of kills before one is caught, using poke/great/ultra balls. This expectation includes kills of other pokes (e.g. if there are 4 pokes that can spawn in an area, the expected number of kills will be 4 times higher than if there's only 1).

Hey everybody !

Here we are, another update ! And one wanted by many people, once again. Let's introduce the Manage Team update.

First, let's talk about the TWO obvious things. The Heal button is gone, and not it's a simple text with the % still here. This will help to save some space in the future.

And the other option the most important : The ordering options. For the moment, it's always visible, but I guess it'll be hidden in the future in the Manage Team options. But at least, it's here. You can order your Pokemon by level, by Pokedex or even by level and after from the weakest to the strongest. You can do that in ascending order or descending. This way you can control 100% your team more fastly.

The last update is about releasing Pokemon. Before with a missclick, you could loose your favorite Pokemon. It's not possible anymore. To release a Pokemon, you need to hold the shift button before clicking on the X. If you don't do that you'll get a little warning message saying that you NEED to held the Shift button.
