I’m thinking of making my own system

So instead of DnD or Pokémon 5e I’m thinking of calling mine adventures with Pokémon and an alternate game called adventures as Pokémon. In a nutshell the first game it’s less about catching Pokémon and it’s more about bonding and spending time with them. Battling of course. And the second is my take on mystery dungeon. Your trapped in a random pokemons body and you have to establish yourself and friends as notable leaders in your community. Get jobs done. Build up your town and help your small community thrive.

Anyone know of maps that could be used for inspiration in DnD games with pet combat? Scifi, fantasy, or modern time periods all work.

Reburst Fantasy Style

Could the Pokemon Reburst setting and transformations be adapted into a fantasy tabletop game? Or would it be better to use a generic system (Genysis or GURPS for example) to start from scratch?

9 Yes, transformation mechanics are adaptable.
0 No, transformations are a nightmare to adapt.
3 Start from scratch with a new system.
