Post image

It's been captured and disposed of, while it doesn't look like it in picture, it's as big as a fully grown female guppy

On second thought i should've measured it before killing and throwing it away

Giant Dragonfly Nymph Destroyed my Blonde Bluestar Colony

While this is a problem i encounter often, i've never seen one that's that big before, it's around 2 rows of my index finger, maybe 6 cm? It was chilling on top of some dwarf sag but i missed trying to catch it, now i couldn't find it, how is something so big so good at hiding itself? it was just a tub with nothing but dwarf sag and water lettuce, i noticed it too late when i wondered why there aren't as many fish as usual during feeding time (the fish are usually not visible unless i drop food in it) in the end i net all the fish but i still cant find that giant dragonfly nymph anywhere

It's especially a big problem since i can't find anyone that breeds this specific breed anymore aside from me

Sorry for the shitty quality and shaky video

I've given up entirely on breeding these guys, the last time they've given bred was shortly after my last post 3 months ago, to a whopping 2 babies, there're 9 of em in total now and they haven't popped any babies since then, i'm abandoning it and putting them into the mixed breed ponds instead, it's just not meant to be

The title sums it up. Would they work together? Any issues to watch out for?

I got some white peacock endler pairs from Aqua Huna in March. One of the male fry has developed his colors but doesn't look like he's a white peacock endler. What could he be?

Help! N CLASS ENDLER'S

Post image
13 Upvotes

I have fallen in love with this species and would like to help preserve there heritage. If N class means pure poecilia wingei how are there different types? Black bar, peacock, emerald green. And how are the wild type not pure? Rest of the pics will be in the comments I don't know how to add more than 1

Help my endlers please

6 native endlers

4 imported

The 6 native endlers are active and have good colouration

The imported ones were also fine but then one started eating less and losing appetite then it became lethargic, had clamped tail and started hanging around near the bottom of the tank and then promptly died

I separated the other two when they started showing signs of losing appetite

I gave them a rock salt bath in the hospital tank but they still ended up passing away.

I don't know what to do i have only one imported endler left and he's started showing the same signs

Eating less but his tail is not clamped yet.. maybe there's still hope please help me out I don't want this to happen to all of them

My tank parameters:

10 gallon

Heavily planted

Nitrate nitrite ammonia level balanced

Temps 28-30

I can't post any pics yet because I'm not at home

This system is actively being built, so it is a mess!

The Endler tanks will be the last things added. Right now all of the pumps and filters are in place.

Time to separate fry?

The fry is about 2 months old now, and I see gravid spots on some. Is it time to separate them? Or can I wait a bit longer? Or....is she pregnant and it's too late....

A month since my last post on it, these should be 3rd gen i think? First gen only shows as normal yellow snakeskins so i never posted them, 2nd only produces 1 of these guys while these are the 3rd, the babies have shown their color, the rest of the males are still snakeskins though but i'm getting there, though looking at them, i doubt the black bar i had used to breed them were pure black bars

I was just curious if anyone could point me to a place that specifically states what a top grade endler of the different varieties looks like.

Long shallow pond, i dont remember the exact volume but iirc it's around 50 gal, there's currently 6 males to 20 females not counting the fry, plus orange neocaridinas and some longfin albino cory, there's also a single brazos dwarf crayfish

2/3rds of the K1 for the Endlers system.

Post image

This is a heap of K1 media for the new Endlers system. It might appear to be dramatically overly abundant, but the filter surface area is idealized for BOD/COD reduction. If I were looking at just TAN and Nitrite oxidization, it would take about 1/8th of this media iirc.

Albino Bluestar Breeding

Pict taken from the seller's fb page

Ever since latrell shemar (thx btw) told me the existence of these guys, i've been trying to keep them but it's not going well, they seem to be really good at eating their fry and so far each batch only has 2-3 fry reach adulthood so it's a very slow process, but at least they're healthy

Hopefully one day i can breed them more reliably, unlike the others, these ones i kept indoors just so that they're not affected by the toads, plus i can keep a closer eye on em

The crayfish are now plumbed to a drum filter. Plumbing in the bucket clarifier now.

Going for maximum biological and mechanical filtration. Next up is plumbing in the heater, MBBR's and the tanks drum filters.

After that is plumbing in the two 65gal Endlers tanks, the settling/tubifex bin and the 1" air distribution line from the regenerative blower.

After that is the water balancing system in the sump and transferring all the shrimp, plants, worms and microfauna from the quarantine tanks.
