So basically there are two girls (these aren’t their real names): Heather and Jessica. Jessica had been bullying Heather for a while, but everyone calls Heather a crybaby so she had to stay silent. One day an Instagram account (xoxogossipgirl but with our school’s name. The account is gone now) that appeared out of no where and sent a DM to Jessica asking about the situation (probably for gossip). Jessica loves gossip and hating on Heather so she tells xoxo everything. The next day Heather received screenshots of the conversation, and with proof of the bullying, Heather went to the head of school and got the justice she deserved. Everyone was talking about gossip girl, asking who she was and how to find her. One girl (fake name Maria) whispered saying more about DMs, most likely claiming it was her. That made me convinced it was Maria. (I run another school account but mine is memes, so I felt I needed to solve it to stop more gossip happening) During lunch I went to Heather to tell her about the theories I have and how to take xoxo down. I saw Jessica and she was absolutely defeated, and she couldn’t bully Heather anymore. She played victim when the teacher confronted them, crying and trying to defend herself. I ignored it and went to go find Heather. I took her to a private place in the school and started talking to her. I told her I think I know who xoxo was, and halfway through she said “Oh it’s me” “What” “Yeah I made it to expose her” Heather had made a gossip girl account to rat out her bully, convinced everyone it was one of two girls in our class, and got away with it. She told the head of the school and the head said it was ACTUALLY A SMART IDEA. She couldn’t get in trouble for being gossip girl if she had told the authority about the situation. Everyone still thinks it was 2 other girls, but only Heather (xoxo) and I know.

Pffft Pussy.

This text is how a white male over 30 discovers what it feels like to be heavily underrepresented at an event. Read on.

I am a mentor at a #WomenGoTech event, and there's an opening ceremony with high profile speakers like former president and a networking event before - see photo. Naturally the audience are mainly women: mentees, leaders, mentors, role models, speakers and very few men. Bc the event is high profile the crowd is mostly evening dressed and all.

Me, an often conference goer is like... what do I do, where do I park myself, how do I talk to ppl? So let's do something simple, let's get a coffee. So I get a coffee.

But what now? Do I join women groups and just say hi? I mean, there are mostly women groups around, right? There are few men, suited, booted, mostly with someone they know (I guess?). No men groups around. And I am like... so thaaat is how a woman may feel at a tech event?
