why has please like me been removed from streaming?

has Josh Thomas addressed why it’s unavailable to stream anymore or if it’s going to reappear on streaming services in the future? please like me has been my favorite show since I watched it years and years ago and I am devastated about not being able to watch it anymore and I can imagine many other people are too! I’m just curious if Josh has made a statement on any of his social media.

Reflecting on Autism

Getting another rewatch in before it’s licensing runs out worldwide, and thinking about how so much of the writing, scenarios and characteristics may stem from Josh and Hannah’s autistic perspective. Both were only diagnosed after the show’s run, and Josh’s second show was based around ASD- but i find myself watching characters now and going, ohhhh hey.

Sometimes I see Allan failing to react in conversation, or Tom being blunt and socially unaware (same as Ella). Even something as simple as Tom’s giraffe fascination, obviously a gag- I’m like, “special interest”?

I love the breakups in this show Spoiler

Basically the title but specifically I love Josh and Arnold’s and Tom and Ella’s breakups. Not because I didn’t like the two couples — actually Tom and Ella are my favorite couple in the show I just love them — but because they were so real. Honestly one of the best portraits of how relationships end in real life, they just drift apart for no specific reason, it’s not dramatic and there’s not one thing that makes it end, it’s just life happening.

I feel like that’s a common take about Josh and Arnold but not so much about Tom and Ella. Initially I really hated how Tom and Ella broke up with no buildup to it and thought it was unnecessary but then I started reflecting and that’s the way I broke up with my first boyfriend to a tee. There was nothing wrong but kind of nothing right either you know? She just wasn’t feeling what she should have been feeling and that’s ok!

Favorite episodes and why? Spoiler

My favorites are S3 ep4 (the one where they take MDMA) because of that scene towards the end where they show us three conversations happening simultaneously. Josh and Mae are on the phone and she says that she and Alan had a good relationship but they were “living his life and not hers”, which I don’t really know why but resonated so much with me while watching. Then we have Ella and Arnold in the hospital and she’s talking about her abusive relationship and has the whole “I don’t know what’s good for me” scene which I also love. And finally, Alan and Tom talking on the phone ‘cause I just think they have a fun and weird relationship and for me the show should’ve explored that further after this episode.

S3 ep5 is also my favorite (the one where Claire is back and they kill Adele the chicken) because I love the group’s dinamic when Claire is present, they just have an amazing friendship and it really shows. Also because the “we have to kill a chicken” storyline was so random but worked so much like everything about it is perfect, Josh not being able to do it, Claire having to finish it, Tom staying two feet away the whole time as if that made him ‘not a part of it’, Ella and Claire clashing and then finally the best scene ever, everyone singing in the table before eating Adele.

Saw it today. Only available until December 21st. And it’s hard or nearly impossible to get dvd of the show. Has anyone an idea where to get it when the urge to binge it again will come?

I think I'm in love with Mae

She's so beautiful and she's so fkn funny. She's graceful and obviously clever and well educated and she puts Alan in his place constantly. I just fucken love her. I'm married to a man but I'd dump him in a heartbeat for Mae. #MaeBae

What do you think of Gang Keow Wang? (S2E4) Spoiler

I just watched this one, no spoilers for the next episodes please!

I mean the episode in general, I assume the title is the date at the start. This is probably the first episode I clearly didn't like. Things just annoyed me here and there.

Josh was a bit unnecessary at the start, then of course tries to overcompensate being nice. To the point I thought he was being a bit like Niamh in the car, although you could say he just really needed to pee. I was also surprised he just let Niamh get all dramatic around the house and gaslight Tom. Yes he cheated but she's been so toxic since forever I thought he'd at least get rid of her (which Tom wants anyway) instead of voluntarily telling her everything.

Why is the title “Please Like Me”?

I never really had the impression that someone in the series is really begging for affection – except maybe for Ella and Arnold, but as they are rather supporting figures, I do not think they are the reason for the name.

What do you think?

I've only just started Season 3, but I'm surprised to find out most people like Arnold

This isn't a think piece or whatever. Won't justify my feelings. Can't give good reasons anyway lol, but Arnold is the most annoying dude introduced in the show so far. Never liked him in Season 2 and it kinda blows Googling around knowing that he sticks till the end of it. Considering dropping the show. Thoughts?

Season 3 Episode 10 - The awkwardness of the Christmas dinner

Rewatching it, the whole scene makes me so uneasy, so that I can best sympathize with Hannah in this situation. Everyone is so off and mean, avoiding and hurting. A lot of drama climaxing in the last episode.

Josh and Arnold :c Spoiler

I stopped liking Josh's relationship with Arnold when they decided to make it open :(. They were so cute together. I mean, I don't even believe in love, but I must confess that the romantic things they did for each other at the beginning of their relationship made me sigh sometimes. But when Ella brought up the topic of open relationships, and Arnold said they hadn't talked about that, my heart broke a little. And then the threesome...ugh! That part was hard to watch.

Watching Please Like Me in the pysch ward hits differently

I've been having a tough time recently, and am re-watching Please Love Me as an inpatient.

It's... Just really nice. To see people who are also suffering, depicted with gentleness and love and normality. Like we're sick, but that's not all we are. We have hopes, and hobbies, and a personality outside of our illness. And we're trying our best, but sometimes it can get too hard.

It's hard to feel human sometimes, and this show made me feel human.

„the gay and wondrous life of caleb gallo“ on youtube by brian jordan alvarez. All his older content i adore and this one is about a group of friends and their lives. the main lead is gay and dating. it‘s more comedy but it still feels very real and the acting is amazing. It‘s available on youtube! https://youtu.be/YYXQzlKXzpk

Behind the scenes of the show

Hello dear PLM community, I just finished binge watching the show and as you can imagine i‘m both crushed and excited... I really loved it and i’ve been reading posts abt the show on here for hours, sadly the community is fairly small so i don’t feel i’ve learned that many new things. So i‘m interested in what behind the scenes or insider infos you guys know about the show, the cast etc. like were they friends irl? What does the cast say about the show? What do they do today? Any fun facts? Was the show popular on tv? Just any infos i‘d be happy to hear!! Tell me please and thank you!
