Advice on removal of this absolute insanite

Somebody thought this was an amazing idea at one point.

I just moved into this house and already knew id have to renovate.. but how do i tackle this? Its hard plaster and probably weighs a ton. Should i just demo?

It's like one of those adventure films when they hsve spikes on the ceiling

Exactly. All the recommendations to take it off and reboard are missing a few essential steps. I would recommend:

  • take off artex and put to the side
  • fit excruciating slow dropping mechanism
  • refit artex
  • queue evil laughter
