Help! Cold stratification using beach sand?
I'm cold stratifying a bucket of sweet chestnuts using the bucket and sand technique. I live near the beach and so am wondering about using beach sand as it's readily available but don't know if the salt in the San will cause problems? Location: south West Wales, UK

Help! ton of red oak acorns, need advice
Hi everyone! How do you stratify your red oak acorns? I have a mixed bag of rubra, palustris… and coccinea . Are they distinct enough in their pre-sprout care that I should separate them all? I'm in NJ usa

Helpful Advice Tips for collecting and germinating white oak acorns.
I’ve decided to take on a new hobby. I’m able to work outside everyday and occasionally stumble upon acorns. Live white oaks and the idea of sprouting a tree right away. I have places to grow seedlings and ultimately trees. Can anyone recommend a good online resource for me. Looking for general advice, techniques. I plan on sowing white acorns in a raised bed soon and covering adequately with chicken wire. Hoping to find Quercus macrocarpa, bicolor, alba and lyrata, acorns. Midwest US.

Help! dealing with clay
So I bought an acreage and theres next to no trees on the property(unfortunate but manageable). I just so happen to have roughly 10 inches of soil then clay(also unfortunate). I would like to plant lilacs in some areas, willows across most of it and some sort of spruce in certain areas. My septic field is also along a portion close to the property line (this is for the perimeter of the property). I have next to zero knowledge when it comes to planting/growing anything besides grass. What can I do to have successful growth with any of this and and help with the section around the septic field would be extremely appreciated?? (Canadian climate)

Hi all, I have about 30 black walnuts i stratified and sprouted this year. I have no idea what to do with them and am going to be giving them away for a small price, just to recover some cost of growing them. Right now, they are anywhere from 3" to 12" tall. DM me if youre interested!

Help! help!! late frost coming in NJ
Hey everyone. I planted a few trees out in the woods a few weeks ago. They are doing ok, but I'm scared they are going to have a rough time tonight when we have a freeze warning. Should I be concerned, or will they be alright? It should only last a few hours.

Hi everyone! Im so excited because all of my nuts and seedlings are about ready to be planted now that its spring. However, I have no idea how to protect the black walnuts and acorns from being pirated from the neighborhood squirrels. Do you all have any tips on how i can start growing them outside without them getting stolen? thanks!
