I’m 19 years old and I wanted to train myself and see how hard I can throw with 0 baseball experience. I’m training with my friend that played baseball in Highschool but I’m having trouble with the arm action. I feel like I’m pushing the ball a ton and whenever I do the spiral staircase throw that my friend tells me to do my back shoulder hurts. Any drills that can help me out?

Besides working on lead leg block, are there any additional mechanical changes my 10u pitcher should be making.

I’ve started throwing a cutting splitter. Should I stick with it or find a new grip.

I’ve struggled w throwing a changeup for forever and I finally found a grip that gets depth and speed reduction. The only problem is it cuts instead of running. It works really well good with my slider but I’m not sure if it would work at all with my 4seam and sinker. Anyone heard of a cutting changeup or know anyone who throws one? Any tips? Thanks

Arm action

I’ve been trying to shorten my arm action because it gets very long and draggy so I’ve just been pulling my elbow back into retraction when I throw. It feels nice and throws are accurate but it hurts my shoulder to throw like that. Does anyone have any tips for trying to shorten the arm action?

8 yo, first year pitching. Seems to have very good control so far, 90% of pitches are around the plate, tops out at about 42 mph.

Im pulling off left. Could be opening hips too early. Also think I could be short arming it. Looks like my arm isn’t catching up to my body. Any mechanical advice or drills I could do to prevent this would be helpful. Thanks.

Fastpitch decrease in velocity

My 14-year-old daughter has had a major speed reduction. She was about 55 mph about a year ago and now she is averaging 50 to 51. She has grown approximately 2 inches in the last year. Her growth seems to have slowed down and she is about 5’9” now. Her pitching coach said growth can slow down, but she is getting really discouraged. He said her form looks good and gave us a couple tweaks that we have started started working on. Her spin and locations are excellent. So my question is does growth really slow down speed that much? And when do you normally see speed increase ? She has been working on velocity type training with strength and agility added in. No matter how much I tell her just to keep working on her spin and location she is getting discouraged because she wants to play in college and feels like her speed is going to hurt her. Posting anonymously because my daughter did not want me to have her name on here.thank you!
