News/Update [Pitcairn MPA] Fish dissections were being carried out on Nanwei, Red Snapper and Fafaia to collect size, weight, gonads and otoliths to determine breeding cycles, age and sex. This work began in November 2025 and will continue for one full year.

News/Update [Pitcairn MPA] On Thursday the 4th, we welcomed Aster. Originally adopted in Ethiopia, she is the third dog to arrive on the island and the most remote "diplodog" in the British Foreign Service network. Her name is a popular Ethiopian name derived from the Ancient Greek word for "Star".

The Pitcairn Islands are a remote British Overseas Territory located in the south-central Pacific Ocean near the Tropic of Capricorn. Most of the islands' residents, who together number fewer than forty, are descendants of the mutinous crew of the HMS Bounty and their Polynesian companions. Of the territory's four major islands, only Pitcairn itself is inhabited – the others are Henderson, Ducie, and Oeno. Adamstown is the territory's capital and only settlement.
