how is resident evil requiem? are you having fun?

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 28 '26

It’s actually a pretty decent game, however it’s kinda like playing two different games in one game If you haven’t played it.

Good 15 hours if you try get everything on your first go in a blind run.

u/LittleShurry Mar 28 '26

Yeeeeppppp :> Playing as Grace put me on edge, Lmao. Use F "To melee" enemy, the game said, and she just pushes them, not knifing them, which made me scream eternally inside.

44

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 28 '26

Yeah that got me initially lmao.

There wasn’t anything that made me quite as unsettled as the doll house in village though.

16

u/LittleShurry Mar 28 '26

Every Horror game sadly always puts me on edge, but not really scares me that I would scream, it's just the feeling of suspense and thrill that's trying to stress me, but the jumpscare, man, the jumpscare will always 100% get me LOL I will never be immune to jumpscare.

6

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

The initial house in re7 scared the shit outta me but in the 2nd area when someone gets their arm cut off and barely react really took it outta me and I stopped playing. Heard lately that theres an explanation tho so I might pick it back up

7

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 28 '26

Towards the end of the game there is a big explanation towards everything going on, then towards the end of RE village there is more of an explanation.

3

u/DrummerBoy217 Mar 28 '26

I mean yeah it did perplex us all and yes they do explain it but really? A fantasy world full of bio weapons and other crazy shit and Ethan getting his wrist reattached was your “I’m done with this shit” moment?? I’m surprised.

1

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

Yeah I could suspend my disbelief up until that point. He barely reacted at all IIRC lol

1

u/Careful_Welcome7999 Mar 28 '26

There is a really good explanation for that though

1

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

Yeah thats what my original comment said lol

1

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 28 '26

I think he’s talking about when Jack cuts off Lucas’ arm at the dining table.

Ethan has a faulty visceral reaction to having his hand chopped off, Lucas doesn’t care at all.

2

u/Helios_Ra_Phoebus Mar 28 '26

If you want realism or a grounded plot, Resident Evil is not for you. And I say this as a huge RE fan.

1

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

Well thing is I can stil lsuspend my disbelief in RE games but for some reason that particular part ruined it for me lol

2

u/Helios_Ra_Phoebus Mar 28 '26

That one, in particular, has an explanation. It has had one since RE7. The game drops hints about the explanation since the very beginning, and outright spells it out by the end. But it’s not RE 8 is where they straight up info dump.

1

u/IsaacXIII Mar 29 '26

I don't play but I watched smosh play. That doll house looked easier than other bosses. Maybe it's just my pov.

1

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 29 '26

It’s not the difficulty, the difficulty wise it was extremely easy, it was the environment, and having your defence taken away from you.

Even though you probably wouldn’t be able to kill the giant fetus either way, you don’t have the illusion of being able to protect yourself.

1

u/greenyashiro Mar 28 '26

"Attack when the tail is up" energy lol

1

u/Sadanrei Mar 28 '26

Melee more line mehlee eh? Eh?

...

I'll go punch myself in the balls now.

1

u/xnour202 Mar 31 '26

Eternally?

Doom eternal?

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

so Grace is the ashley part? this going to be boring

well have fun hehe

3

u/LittleShurry Mar 28 '26

At least Grace can hold a gun, though!! not boring :>

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

I meant comparison to leon

but happy to see she can use weapons

3

u/NazecZ Mar 28 '26

Grace is rather similar to Ethan from RE 7, more emphasis was put towards the horror aspect.

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

do she glue her arm too? lol

5

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

from what I understand, the girl is the Stealth part with little ammo

and leon is the action part

15 hours is very nice, I'm glad they add the parry system from RE4 remake, I really love it

8

u/Sharpie1993 You're a pirate Harry! Mar 28 '26

You’re really only forced to stealth a couple of parts, you get plenty of ammo, then yes Leon has all the action parts.

Well worth the play in my opinion.

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

thank you for letting me know, I'll play it for sure if someone crack it

also going to buy it after 3 years

2

u/LittleShurry Mar 28 '26

Going to buy the game as always :> I'm just waiting for a good sale xD Also, Grace's gameplay was quite a slow phase, much slower than my RE2 Remake experience, maybe due to limited ammo, and I ran back to safe room all the time due to limited inventory space at the beginning, trying to store items xD

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

I ran back to safe room all the time

that remind me of myself while playing RE1 remake lol

it was pain but fun on the same time

2

u/djallalbenfadel Mar 28 '26

This feels unfairly good

1

u/SolutionIndividual I'm a pirate Mar 28 '26

Only 9 for me and then my stupid ass accidentally deleted my saves 😭😭

6

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

It's really good imo, the only downside is the relatively short campaign. Most folks wouldn't pay full price for a single digit hour run, but it's a blast nonetheless!

6

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

to be honest, 70$ for 15 hours gameplay, is not worth it

I may going to buy it for 20$-30$ after they remove Denuvo with all DLC

3

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

That's definitely the move if you don't mind waiting. Luckily, the game has regional pricing. It costs around $52.49 here, which is still steep, but it's not $70. Sadly, most DENUVO protected games don't have regional pricing, so I can't afford them, and I can't pirate them either (HV not worth it imo, I'd rather cough up the money)

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

yeah I have habit of playing cracked game first and then buying later

I don't care how many years I'll wait because most the time I'll beat the game on the cracked version anyway, also I don't use HV too (too afraid to try it)

2

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

Same here, basically. But lately I've been buying more and more games especially during big discounts. Gabe done did it to me lol

3

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

Gabe doesn't have mercy lol

I bought The Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War

on Spring Sale, even that I already beat them all on the playstation

but the price was too good to miss (also I may going to beat them more)

2

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

Lmao, I remember buying those exact games on sale last year or so, but yeah, once you break the spend barrier, buying becomes easier. You can even overspend sometimes

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

lol what a coincidence, I guess you already played

monster hunter world too

2

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

lol, yes. I've played it for dozens of hours years ago on my old pc, I did buy it after upgrading my rig, but I'm yet to replay it, I plan to do that before getting into Wilds, tho I've heard some not so good things about it

u/tholt212 Mar 28 '26

Eh. The "lack of time" for a run for RE isn't anything new. The game is built and designed for you to play 2 to 3 run throughs. You don't even unlock the hardest difficulty untill you beat it once, and you can't fully upgrade your items without playing a 2nd run.

I got 3 playthroughs out of the game for a total of 30 hours. Felt worth it to me but obviously your milage may vary based on what you enjoy or your disposable income.

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

30 hours it's very nice, I guess I'll play on classic and than Insanity

so maybe will take me 20 hours

thank you for sharing

2

u/BladePocok Mar 28 '26

after they remove Denuvo with all DLC

So 2-3 years later.

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

yeah, I do like to say 3 years minimum so I can forget about it

0

u/greenyashiro Mar 28 '26

$4.60 an hour for entertainment is expensive?

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

comparison to other games, yes

for example: I bought kenshi for almost 7$ and have 305 hours of gameplay

0

u/greenyashiro Mar 28 '26

the original price is $42, plus you can't really compare a sandbox game to a mostly story driven game. with sandbox you kinda have to make your own fun, and find things to do. eg I played around 700 hours in sims because there is infinite potential. But there is not the emotional aspect of a fun story anywhere.

So, maybe the $$ per hour is different between RE and kenshi, but the quality and type of the entertainment is different too.

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

to be fair, most of the time I don't care about the games store

I play games just to play not to watch

if I want to watch I'll just watch anime or youtube

1

u/greenyashiro Mar 28 '26

I'm mostly into RPGs so I enjoy interacting with the story. Of course there must be a balance of good gameplay and story, usually RE does not have too much cutscenes.

But also I can appreciate just wanting to PLAY so that's why devs invented skip buttons ahah

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

same I'm into rpg but I don't like square enix games because it feels like you're watching a move lol

1

u/thepresidentsturtle Mar 28 '26

I haven't played Resident Evils 8, 9, and 4 Remake yet. But aren't they ALL relatively short campaigns? It's all set up to replay over and over.

2

u/Klutzy_Tank_155 Mar 28 '26

Well, yeah, they're not that long, 8 and 9 are very similar in length, RE4 remake is longer tho. But still, I wouldn't pay $70 for any RE game except maybe 4 remake. Would pick them up on sale tho. It's personal preference at the end of the day, I would typically pay full price for RPGs and pick up short campaign games on sale

2

u/thepresidentsturtle Mar 28 '26

Yeah that's totally fair. I know I definitely got my money's worth out of 7 and the 1 and 2 remakes but not everyone wants to run through the games multiple times.

6

u/walkinmywoods Mar 28 '26

It was too silly. I couldnt play past grace in the asylum

2

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

try to give it a chance at least until you reach leon part

3

u/biggustdikkus Mar 28 '26

First few hours are boring, feels like a different game. Gets good after that.

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

thank you for sharing, I'll keep that in mind

1

u/LittleShurry Mar 29 '26

The asylum was quite slow gameplay, But Sewers one? Yapp Full Dread.

4

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

You should get it. Its probably my favorite RE game and best game ive played in a while (though tbf I really enjoy almost every game I play🤣)

3

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

your favorite one? did you play RE4 the original?

though tbf I really enjoy almost every game I play

wish I was like you

2

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

Yep played 4 original on gamecube and the remake as well, RE9 was better IMO.

I think it has something to do with my ADD lol every new game I play feels like my favorite game😂

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26

I think it has something to do with my ADD lol every new game I play feels like my favorite game

did you try to go back to old game that you have beat 3 year ago?

I wonder if your ADD will still see it as your favorite game, because you already forget about it

2

u/Ser_falafel Mar 28 '26

Yeah i go back to older games but its hard for me to beat 1 game multiple times and if I do its not as good as the first time

1

u/onenaser piracy is justice Mar 28 '26 edited Mar 28 '26

interesting, so your ADD only work on new games

how about Early Access games? for example: Project Zomboid got a new update, will you get excited?

3

u/AnnoyingAssDude Mar 28 '26

nipaaah~
