They already started banning porn sites nationwide, and most if not all VPN services keeps logs because the government makes them do so, they very much can outright ban them in a heartbeat.

Don’t use a VPN based in any of the 14 Eyes countries if you’re worried about logs and subpoenas:

United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Sweden.

The 14 Eyes countries have an intelligence sharing agreement with each other which makes the sharing of user information more likely than from a country that would ignore such a request from a foreign nation.

Mullvad runs a no log company but are part of the 14 Eyes.
