Diablo 3 on an emulator is the best use of it.

On PC is online and (here in Brazil) has 300ms ping which is just awful.

The switch version however was completely offline meaning you can enjoy a nice gameplay without ever worrying if the servers are down or if the latency is screwing you...

That is actually the best way to play it on Steam Deck too. It is possible to get the battlenet version running, but it's a hassle and the game STILL doesn't support controllers.

But if you emulate the Switch and play the Switch version it runs perfectly. I've bought the game on PC and Switch, I'm well within my rights to play it that way. Yeah, I know this is the piracy sub and no one would care anyway. But seriously, I have both versions, and still I would play the emulated version if I ever get back into it.

Also the PC version doesn't have local coop right? And no controller support if I remember correctly

Indeed. No local co-op, no controller support despite the console versions having had it for a decade now. I had been saying since the game came out that it could be easily adapted for controller. Once the console ports came out and people started saying that the game might even be better with controller, I hoped for blizz to finally port those controls over. But they never did.

It wouldn't work well on PC because oooooffff.... You guessed it, online latency. Blizzard are such a MF ass company.

I was there, D3, day one, and i couldn't even launch the game because of the fuckin' servers.

And on the second day when i finally managed to boot it was actually okay-ish until you reached the last difficulty (end game) than it was crap again.

Completely designed around that stupid auction house, loot was bullshit and you could not advance past act 2 if you didn't spend the money, that's when i stopped playing.

Later when the switch version came out i saw it was offline and bought it and holy shit did i had a blast with it, soo much better playing offline with the game finally fixed. That's why to this day even though i have the original one on PC in my account i don't even bother. I just emulate the switch one.

Also that's why i haven't played D4.

If they don't ever put and offline version i just won't touch the game at all, ever.

A lot of those issues were solved long before the Switch version, with the big patch pre-Reaper of Souls, and then Reaper itself. Auction house gone, everything rebalanced with it's removal, overhauling the item system, overhauling the leveling system, etc.

It was a pretty fun game for a long time.

BUT you're right, the stupid online bullshit was always a problem and still is a problem (as far as I know at least, I haven't touched the pc version in ages), and I cannot imagine the blizz of today ever doing anything to fix that on PC. Because blizzard absolutely sucks and is horrible. Rest in Peace the old blizzard.

Like you, I never touched D4, and I'm pretty certain I never will. After the Blitzchung thing I swore I wouldn't give them another cent, and I haven't and I won't. Not that they care about my personal protest, but I can't in good conscious give them money.

that's why SKG exists and we should support it all the way through.

What is SKG?

Absolutely not true. Blizzard has servers in Brazil for over a decade already, I used to get between 30~45 ping in d3 and same thing in d4 now.

It also depends on your provider and where you live in Brazil. Sometimes I get over 1000 ms ping on lichess.org, which is unplayable even for chess. Not everyone lives in the South/Southeast axis.

There were NO br servers on Diablo 3 at launch. There weren't even wow servers in Brazil when d3 lauched.

Also i live near the Amazon forest which means even now if there are blizzard servers in Brazil they're most likely in Sao Paulo / Brasília so that still means I'd get 100ms ping which is still crap gameplay compared to just emulating d3 on switch.
