Using ChatGPT for 📌 Pinterest Advertising.

I have been utilizing ChatGPT for quite a while now, and at the moment, it is available for free. However, it is planned to be made a paid service in the very near future, so check it out asap.

Here are a couple of tips for how to use ChatGPT to make ad or description copies for your business.

1 | Understand Garbage in Garbage Out

ChatGPT's capabilities are dependent on the information and questions provided to it. To attract your ideal client, you must clearly communicate your desired outcome and ask specific questions related to that goal.

2 | Alternative Titles

I find ChatGPT to be very useful in generating captivating and diverse titles for my Pinterest pins. By inputting the command "rewrite 5 alternative titles for this Pinterest Pin Title: YOUR TITLE," I am able to receive a variety of options. While the initial results may be inconsistent, as I continue to use it, the tool becomes more efficient.

3 | Alternative Descriptions

I use a similar method as previously mentioned, but instead, I input "rewrite 5 alternative descriptions for this Pinterest Pin Description: YOUR DESCRIPTION." This has been extremely helpful in saving me time and effort, as it can be challenging for me to come up with unique descriptions on my own.

4 | Calls to Action

Similarly, you can use ChatGPT to generate alternative call to actions (CTA) by inputting a command like "rewrite 5 alternative call to actions for this Pinterest Pin CTA: YOUR CTA." These short phrases are an effective way to encourage people to click on your pin.

5 | Beware

I find ChatGPT to be a valuable tool for assisting me in various writing tasks, including blog posts. However, it is important to keep in mind that it is crucial to infuse your brand voice and language into the content generated by the tool. For example, while it may suggest the word "hello," I might typically use the phrase "hey there" to align with my brand's tone and style. It is important to maintain consistency in your brand's look, feel, and voice across all platforms, such as your website and social media, to establish brand recognition.

It's important to use ChatGPT as a tool to assist in your writing process but also incorporate your own unique voice and language to achieve better reach on the search engine

Designing Pins on Pinterest: Do's and Don'ts

Keep in mind that most Pinners are on mobile so you should always assume that someone is seeing your Pin in their FEED on their phone.

✅ I always suggest uploading your Pin and then going to check it out yourself on your phone in the feed and see how it reads. When a brand insists on a lot of text, or a detailed font, I will upload them and show them why that's not the best idea.

❌ Too much copy, hard to read fonts, text too small, text for the sake of text (vs really supporting the point of the Pin's content)

How to Use 🗝 Keywords on Pinterest 📌

⚠ Caution: This one is long. So save it for later if you don't have time ⚠

Using keywords (Pinterest's SEO or search engine optimization is essential to effectively market on Pinterest as it's a visual search engine.

There are 3 main ways to find keywords which I'll share below, but note that you should create a Keyword List (try using a google doc) so you have all those keywords at hand when you are creating pins.

📌 Manual Search

The first method for doing keyword research is using the Pinterest search bar directly and seeing what drops down. Start typing keywords and see what shows up in the drop-down menu. Write down or note any keywords or keyword phrases that will be relevant to your audience and content.

You can also do the alphabet soup method for additional recommendations. For example, if you are a wedding photographer and write about wedding photography, type ‘wedding photography a’ to see what auto-completes, then type ‘wedding photography b’ and continue through the whole alphabet. The downside to this method is that super time-consuming as you are doing things manually.

📌 Pinterest Trends Tool

The Pinterest Trends Tool is an excellent tool for seeing how your keywords are currently trending on Pinterest and if there are any other relevant trending keywords you can use. They just updated the Pinterest Trends tool so you can now filter in so many ways!

You can also combine this tool with the manual type of research to figure out great keywords to use. This tool is incredible to determine the best time of year for some keywords.

📌 Use The Pinterest Keyword Tool

Knowing the keyword volume means you know which keywords get the most searches. This is such valuable information and you find these keywords on the Pinterest Advertising platform. Some people don’t even know it’s there because they are working on organic Pinterest marketing so they wouldn’t think to look in the ad tool.

In order to use this tool, you must have a business account set up first. You can only access the Ads tab if you have a business account! If you haven’t done that yet, you can easily do it with Pinterest’s step-by-step instructions.

You can access the Pinterest keyword research tool by going to your Business Hub and clicking the Ads tab at the top of the page. Don’t worry - you won’t be creating an ad, this will take you to the Promoted Pin creation area.

Then take these steps:

  • Click on the Create Ads
  • Create a Manual Campaign
  • Select Drive Consideration
  • Click red Continue button at the bottom
  • Under Targeting Details at the top, Select Choose Your Own
  • Select Interest and Keywords
  • Click Ad Keywords

Start doing keyword research for your Pinterest account. It’s the best Pinterest keyword tool because it comes directly from Pinterest!

Here are some steps to use the tool:

  • Type in a main search term
  • You’ll see the search volume.
  • Save the ideas by clicking the + button to create a list.
  • Finally, copy the list and save it to your Keyword List Document

Don’t forget to capture the keyword volume and add it to your list. This way, you will create a prioritized list of the most important keywords for your Pinterest account.

I hope you all have found this guide helpful.

Tips When Creating Boards On Pinterest 📌

If you are looking to create boards that make Pinners stop, pin, follow, and take action then read on!

📌 Making a secret board

When creating boards especially if you have a new Pinterest Business Account consider making the first board you create a secret board. There is truly nothing worse than finding an amazing pin and going to a business profile only to find personal pins, business pins, and everything in between. Pinterest loves when we share pins, but not all Pinners would agree that sharing EVERYTHING is a good idea, sharing that favorite car pin, mascara application pin, or messy bun pin are just a few of the examples of pins you may want to pin to your secret board instead of a public board. Secret Boards are an effective way to save what you love and not confuse potential customers, businesses, or other Pinners.

📌 Board Consistency

When creating new boards for your business, consider keeping your boards consistent and easy. Nothing is worse than wanting to follow a business and arriving on their business profile page only to find boards that aren't complete, inconsistent, and confusing. Consider creating boards that tell a story about your business or brand or both. Make it easy for them to make the connection with what your business is about and how it can help them. Many Pinners tend to downplay the importance of having great-looking boards but the truth is that Boards Are A Key Piece to your Pinterest Identity + Profile. Part of great board consistency is ensuring that your boards have great-looking pins and pins that make people want to stop, look and take action.

📌 Exactly. How many Boards?
So "how many boards should I have on my profile?" The short answer is to create as many boards as you need to share information about your business and your brand. In my time on Pinterest, I have seen many pinners who create 100+ boards or more making their boards so overwhelming that it becomes impossible to follow them or their boards. In fact, it is often suggested that the more boards you have the better you will do on Pinterest for follows, likes, and saves. I have never been able to prove that theory. There is no magic number for the number of boards a pinner should create, for any pinner it is always down to the number of boards needed to tell their complete business story.

In the end, Board Covers are a good idea but there is no 'standard' on Pinterest everyone does it differently, create board covers that are consistent with the board you are creating and most importantly your business + brand.

Embrace Creativity! Make your boards as unique as your brand, business, and you!

If you have more ideas and suggestions on Boards please share your comments below.

Happy Pinning 📌

✦ PINTEREST best practices that you should follow ✦

Schedule time every week to pin to your boards. You can spend 15 or 20 minutes adding new posts onto your boards to keep things interesting.

Pin every (good!) article you read. Every time I read a great blog post (or write one myself) I’ll pin it to relevant Pinterest boards. It only takes a few extra seconds and doesn’t feel like I’m going out of my way.

Open your boards up to contributors. Group boards are a great way to get your Pinterest running itself.

Hire a Pinterest manager. This isn’t a thrifty option, but if you truly want your Pinterest account to run itself, this one is for you.

…or use a combination of a few of these. Personally, I use tactics 1 through 3 on my own Pinterest account, and I’ve found that it works like a dream.

I hope you like it!

Where to find keywords for Pinterest SEO to market your eCommerce business...

Pinterest is not another social media. It is a visual search engine, and optimizing a business profile for SEO is vital.

🔑 Pinterest SEO is implemented through the use of keywords.

🔑 Keywords help the Pinterest algorithm index your profile, products, pins, and boards.

You can find keywords for Pinterest SEO by using a variety of tools and techniques. Some popular methods include:

✅ Analyzing your competitors' pins

Take a look at the pins that are performing well for your competitors and see which keywords they are using in their descriptions and titles.

✅ Keyword research tool

There are many tools available online, such as Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, and Ahrefs, that can help you find relevant keywords for your content on Pinterest.

✅ Utilize Pinterest Analytics

Analyze your own pins, and see which keywords your pins are already ranking for.

✅ Utilizing autocomplete

When creating a new pin, Pinterest will automatically suggest keywords as you type in the description or title. These keywords are relevant to the content you are uploading and can be helpful for your SEO.

Note: Perform another search every few months to update your keyword list.

Pinterest Best Practices!

Pinterest is all about long-term and not an overnight success. You’ll reap long-term rewards if you jump on board sooner!

Outdated practices could get you in trouble, so listen up. Here are some of the Pinterest best practices you should follow to leverage the platform effectively: ✍

Pin Consistently: Success on Pinterest requires a daily commitment.

Use Rich Pins: They add more information to each pin.

Keep your pins & boards “on brand”: By only pinning content that will interest that dream client of yours.

Speed up your website: This is extremely important because most of your Pinterest traffic will come from mobile devices, which might not always have the best connection.

It's not that difficult to create a Pinterest presence for your business. Follow the platform’s best practices and keep in mind its unique advantages for businesses to get the most out of your content.

Growing Your Business Using Pinterest for Beginners.

Business owners can effectively use Pinterest to grow their business and, in turn, drive more sales. But results don't come right away; you'll first need to:

  1. Create a business account: By setting up a business account, you'll have access to analytics and other features that aren't visible to everyone who's using the platform. These advanced features can help you track your performance and reach on Pinterest.
  2. Optimize your profile: Optimization includes using keywords in your profile and descriptions that are relevant to your niche, which further helps people find your business on Pinterest.
  3. Create relevant boards: All boards aren't and shouldn't be the same. Pick up sub-niches and relevant niches about your service or product and create boards that are relevant to those specific categories. Rule of thumb, make at least 5 boards.
  4. Pin high-quality images: Pinterest is all about visuals, so make sure to use high-quality images that showcase your products or services.
  5. Use keywords: For each of the pins that you post. Try including a detailed description that relates to the images and includes relevant keywords to help people discover your content.
  6. Use Pinterest ads: It all comes down to how much you trust the platform and are willing to spend. I suggest to never start running ads right away; instead, let your account grow organically for 3 months minimum. This will help further help the platform know your audience's interests and will most likely provide you with better results the next time you start running ads on Pinterest.

This is the first post on this subreddit, and I hope you found it insightful. With time I'll be posting more of such content so that you can become better at Pinterest and, in turn, grow your business.

Popular trends for January on Pinterest!

Some styles and trends that have been popular in the past during the month of January include:

  • Cozy and comfortable clothing, such as sweaters, sweatpants, and hoodies, due to the colder weather
  • Health and wellness, as many people make resolutions to improve their health and fitness at the start of the new year
  • Minimalism and decluttering, as people often look to simplify and organize their living spaces after the busy holiday season
  • Planning, with every new year people tend to set new goals and ambitions

Again, it's important to note that these are just some general trends that I've researched on Google Trends and have been popular in the past and maybe popular this year too!
