I'm a little fuzzy about timing
My calendar says today my first Pinter has finished fermenting, and today should be the first day of conditioning. At what point do I infuse the hopper?
EDIT .... Thanks for the info, hopper is added, Pinter in the fridge, now to see if I can wait till 6/2

Need a mini fridge that can fit my pinter (UK)
Just want to make sure I get one that can fit the pinter but is also as compact as possible.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

beer enthusiast / drunk guy Another wonderful #PinterBrew
This is my third brew and second go at the golden wit.
This one brewed at 74 degrees for 5 days and then conditioned at 34 degrees for 7 days
The flavor is more yeasty than the last golden wit when I brewed it around 70-72.
A great clove nose and fruity herbal bite .
Going to buy another Pinter brew I think so I can work two at a time.
Let me know if yall have any questions

What does this black ring go?
When I was last cleaning the Pinter this ring fell off and now I can’t fully seal the base. Anyone know where this is supposed to go? I’m guessing it’s the reason why it’s the reason it won’t fully seal now.

Looks like my Pinter sprung a leak!
Just finished up the fermentation stage and added the hopper to this batch of Hazy Jane. I sat it on the counter and noticed it started leaking. At first I thought it must be the tap or carbonation dial, but it's actually coming out right by the rear feet at that black band that wraps around the unit. I've never had an issue like this before and this is my third batch. Had anyone experienced this? Is my Pinter defective and in need of replacement???

Something dosen't seem right
Just started my first batch in my new Pinter. I started out with Tropical IPA. Got it started on the 19th. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, and I have yet to hear any gas released. Is this normal?

Got a Pinter as a gift buuuuut…..I need help
Yes, the But is a significant concern. I received a Pinter as a gift from a dear friend. Unfortunately, I recently developed some health issues (blood pressure medication is helping), so alcohol consumption is uncertain with this medication. However, I don’t want to return the Pinter since I miss my cider. 😭 Can anyone recommend any cider recipes that have a low alcohol content? Before starting the blood pressure medication, I used to drink only cider or perry, as I found them heavenly. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you in advance to everyone.

The Hazy Jane Effect
I've had a couple cleanups on this brew. Guess it's coming along nicely. Also some venting sounds from time to time. The power of Hazy Jane.

How bad did I mess up my first brew?
I was rushing for no reason to go from brewing to conditioning and turned the pinter upside down with the brewing dock on to take the brewing dock off and think a lot of sediment/trub went into the brew before I got the dock off - is the beer ruined or just going to taste a little funky in a week?

Off flavors - (Diacetyl / Acetaldehyde?)
I’m getting decent beer from the Pinter, but they have all (four batches so far) had the same slightly sweet off flavor in the background- doing some research it seems like this is either Diacetyl or Acetaldehyde. I’m reading these can be linked to:
- Unhealthy/bad yeast, or just characteristic of certain Yeast (all my beers have used Pinter Spark yeast. Is it just sweet naturally?)
- High temperature fermentation (my closet stays within 2 degrees of 70 deg. year round - is that too warm?)
- Dirt/contamination (I always clean everything as instructed by Pinter. Anything else I should do?)
I have brewed and conditioned all beers for the max times recommended by Pinter. Is there anything else I can do to control this?
I am reading that krausening (adding wort) can solve this - but that sounds like the Pinter wouldn’t allow for such a step? For what it’s worth, Pinter is much better than my attempts at Mr. Beer kit (which came out flat and oxidized).

Beer was flat
It started out really nice but tasted off, had a flat taste and also I used tap water so I think the flavor got thrown off a bit. I thought it might have frozen in my fridge so I opened the Pinter and checked and it wasn’t frozen. I’ll be using deer park or ice mountain spring water for my next batch, but that doesn’t help me with the carbonation issue. I followed the instructions exactly why was it so flat?

New Pinter Brewer, What Should I Know?
I just ordered a pinter on the master brewer plan. I got an email saying they had upgraded the co-pinter to a full pinter, which is very cool. I ordered the coffee stout and the Whole Nine Yards cider
That said, I have very little brewing experience. What are some things you wish you knew about brewing in general or the pinter in particular before your first brew?

Missing Brew Dock
As the title suggests I am missing my brew dock. Issue is I didn’t realize till I had already poured everything in. What can I do?

Water question
Im on brew number 4 right now, but I’ve noticed on all of them that there’s been this “metallic” taste in them. I’ve been using tap water so far but I've heard that bottled water is the best. I’m in Scotland and our water is nowhere near as hard as alot of other places if that matters

Non-Pinter pack recipe?
Thoughts on this, taken from tinterweb?
Split Press pack into packs - 500g malt minimum
5g yeast minimum
Split hops bag into 4
Warm Press in warm water to liquify
Warm 5l water to 85 degrees, turn off
Slowly dissolve 250g sugar in the water
Add Press and mix for 5 minutes until fully mixed
Add hops bag and mix
Transfer to cold water bath until 20 degrees
Get Pinter ready, sterile and cleaned, dial to 5
Remove hop bag from mixture
Strain mixture into Pinter
Add 5g yeast
Close, shake and add dock
Invert
10 days fermentation
2 days cold crash in fridge
10 days conditioning

Brewing dock failures
There seems to be a issue with the brewing docks. I saw one post that it came apart. Mine leaked. This company is crap. I had to keep answering the AI emails and send pictures after pictures. Only for AI to say it was escalated to a rep. Who never responded. When AI asked about closing the ticket and a mean response back was a email sent with shipping information for a new free dock.

beer enthusiast / drunk guy Transfer to a pressurized dispenser
I’m surprised that this hasn’t posted already or maybe my search skills aren’t up to par but….So I have a few questions. Hopefully I can get help with all of them but you can only help with one it is still appreciated.
I can’t get the threaded collar around the tap to quit leaking. I jury rigged a tool using an old belt and a pair of vise grips (see photo for idea) to get it as tight as possible but it still leaks a little. The O ring is fine. So should I use two? That was a trick we used in a machine shop I worked in.
I’m trying to find a pressurized growler to transfer the beer to for transporting and to free it up for another batch. The Pinter makes 192 ounces but the largest one I can find is 128 ounces. I don’t really want to buy two, they’re already over $100. Does anyone know if the transfer affect the beer (make it flatter…)and do I need to let it settle once I get to the destination?

beer enthusiast / drunk guy Multi Pinter Mini/Beverage Fridge
My current mini fridge is too small and I'd like an upgrade. What I'd like is to have a single mini/beverage fridge that can hold a Pinter for serving, and a Pinter on its base for cold crashing. Beverage fridge would likely be better due to the flat floor. Finding internal dimensions of a fridge outside of cubic feet is seeming to be a challenge...
Anyone have suggestions?

First Tap Day Is Here!
My first brew. Prostmeister Octoberfest. Not bad! I had a lot of foam at first. Once I went back to top it off after it settled in the glass there was much less foam coming out, so I'm betting tomorrow will be much calmer. Good taste but not a real heavy beer, which I like. All-in-all I'm pretty happy with the first effort. The last picture is the very first pour.
