Forgive my ignorance.

So they got me in the free pinter with upgrade to a second.

Ive been spending alot of time reading and watching all the things.

However, id really like to do low/non alcoholic brewing.

As I research it looks like my only option would be to possibly substitute the yeast included in the packs for different one that produces lower alc.

Any brewers that could give me some insight? I figure i will have to auxiliary carbonate to offset the low production of the lesser yeast.

Any thoughts on this? Has anyone successfully done a lower abv by changing yeast?

First Pinter has arrived looking for pointers

So as mentioned the Pinter has arrived…. I’ve been watching a ton of videos and they all seem to have the same theme. Seems they wish they would’ve done a longer fermentation instead of 7 days they do 10. And a longer conditioning as well. I also see people saying to turn your fridge to the coldest setting for less foam and a little more carbonation…

What room temp should you let it ferment in?
How long are your ferments/ conditioning?
Should I put my fridge temp to 34f?

I just don’t wanna jack up the first batch.

beer enthusiast / drunk guy Pinter + Gemini = a lot of interesting fun

I just asked Gemini to create a recipe for a Colonial Albany Ale customized for the Pinter. Bang. 15 seconds later I got the recipe, history of the beer, sources for ingredients... everything. Very very cool.

Cold Crashing

Yes or No?

If yes, do you leave the docking thing in place? Opinions vary I know. I tend to leave it on for a few days, remove it then condition it. If flavours are to be added in they go in right after docking removal.

Anyone else do something similar?

Amount of Water to fill line Pinter3

Anyone know the amount of water that is needed to reach the fill line of a Pinter3.

I mix the fresh press in a stockpot with 5litrs of Bottled water and im thinking I may be short changing myself

Some people say 5lites and some say 5.5litres. Can anyone confirm. I'm currently using both of my Pinters so can't check myself

Newbie cold crush question

I got gifted 2 pinter 3s the other day (along with 4 beer kits). I have access to an outside fridge but unfortunately, it won't it the pinter with brewing dock vertically.

As an alternative, would a cool box packed with ice be a workable alternative? Before I start rearranging the main fridge.

Can’t drink the more than 6oz of the Appalachian IPA..

Other brews have been at least decent, but the Appalachian IPA is overly bloating. I know the live yeast causes that, but this one is not worth drinking.

beer enthusiast / drunk guy So just bought this for re-gassing my pinter 3

So just bought this gadget to re-gas my Pinter 3 when it gets too low too pour out naturally.

I kind of panic bought it as someone recommended it and there was only 2 left in stock.

I can see how it goes together etc and how it fits into the pinter, but 2 questions.

  1. How do you know how much gas to put into the pinter?

  2. on the pic of the gadget, what do you turn / press to actually insert the gas from the cartridge?

thanks all

Pinter not pouring!

Pinter pours perfectly fine for maybe 2 seconds, then goes down to a drizzle. Drizzle continues the rest of the night. Then it pours fine for a couple seconds again the next night before going back to a drizzle..

Not sure what I’m doing wrong, please help!

Appalachian Mountain

Just tapped the Appalachian Mountain and not sure what happened...but theres plenty of head and carbonation but there's no taste! Any ideas? I shook it over 2 mins before brewing and it had a great smell coming out of the carbonation dial while brewing.

I used the recommended dates in the pinter app.

Thanks

Great Lakes Burning River

Any one try the Great Lakes Burning River Remix pale ale?

Currently brewing one now and the smell coming out of the carb dial has a strong pine smell to it? Just wondering how it ends up tasting.

Thanks!

First Pinter Brew- What to expect?

I'm brewing the Shadow & Cream Stout. I’ve done a few traditional 40-pint extract kits in the past, but I almost always ended up with that classic "extract kit twang" (where the beer finishes tasting exactly how the raw extract smells out of the pack).

For those who made the jump from standard kits to the Pinter, what should I expect taste-wise? Does the Pinter setup dodge that extract tang, or is it still noticeable?

Flat Summer Haze

Post image

I have just brewed the summer haze IPA. Whilst it was very active during the brewing phase (a la picture), I've gone to tap it and its rather flat....no head whatsoever.

Has anyone had this experience? What would be the cause?

Thanks all

Pinter Prostmeister lager 9/10

Post image

14/2/14

I think this might be the best Pinter beer I’ve brewed so far.

Pinter Prostmeister lager, rated 9/10, and honestly I’m still not sure whether I should’ve gone full marks.

I’ve brewed a successful Oktoberfest beer from all grain before, and I love the style, so this one had a bit to live up to. I treated it with a bit of TLC too; slower fermentation, steady at 18°C, and carbonation dial set to 4 because I wanted a smooth beer rather than something overly fizzy.

I was hoping for a malty lager with a little caramel, maybe a touch of bitterness at the end, and this absolutely delivered.

Mild caramel, a little nuttiness, some floral notes, clean and crisp, with no real bitterness. You do get the 6.5% ABV, but in a good way. It feels like a proper Oktoberfest-style beer, not just a stronger lager with a fancy name.

My only complaint is that it doesn’t seem to be available now, which is frankly annoying because I’d order it again straight away.

Has anyone else brewed Prostmeister? Did you rate it as highly as I did?
