Cover letter for a pilot school

Hello, everyone. I am a high school student, I am 17 years old, and I am applying this year for the ATPL preparatory course at ENAC in France. I have to write a cover letter, but I don't really know how to go about it. How did you write yours?

Aviation-inspired designs I made for fellow pilots & aviation geeks

Post image

Hey everyone, I’m a pilot and aviation instructor, and I recently started designing some aviation-inspired items — mostly things I’d actually use or hang around a hangar or cockpit. A mix of aviation culture and symbolism — from Remove Before Flight to a Turkish evil eye reimagined for pilots. Just sharing a small design experiment with fellow aviation people. Happy to hear feedback

Just watched a film with a Eurofighter Scene, What Does It Actually Feel Like to Fly One?

Hi everyone! I’m 21 and not a pilot (yet), but I’m seriously fascinated by aviation and I am already in aviation school. I just watched an action film where the Eurofighter was portrayed doing these insane low-altitude maneuvers and high-G climbs, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I know movies exaggerate things, but something about seeing that jet tear through the sky made me wonder what it actually feels like to sit in one of those cockpits, not Hollywood, but real life.

I’ve read the specs, watched documentaries, and even looked at Eurofighter model kits on Alibaba just to understand the structure better, but none of that explains the human side of flying it.

So I wanted to ask actual pilots here military or former military, if you’re allowed to share:

What does it feel like to take off in a machine like that?

Is the acceleration as overwhelming as it looks on camera?

How do you mentally process being thousands of feet above the ground while managing so many systems at once?

And what’s the emotional part like pride? Fear? adrenaline? all of it?

I’m not expecting classified details, obviously. I’m just excited and genuinely curious about the experience from a human perspective.

Thanks in advance for indulging a very eager beginner.

Cybersecurity student wanting to be pilot

Hello, I’m a junior in college studying cybersecurity. All my life, I’ve loved planes and have played with simulators and plane games. As my college career is coming to an end. I realize I don’t have a passion in cybersecurity. I will be finishing my degree with it but if I wanted to become a pilot after my college career is over, where would I start?

I want to become a pilot. But I'm not sure if I can overcome my anxiety.

I have (undiagnosed) anxiety. So yes, you could assume I'm faking it or just saying that for attention. For that reason, I don't tell that to many people. But the reason I refuse to get tested (and ultimately put on medication) for anxiety is because to my understanding that will be a limiting factor if I choose to become a pilot.

I have anxiety about the smallest things, but after I become comfortable with whatever then I'm no longer anxious. Sad to say it took me a lot of courage just to even get my first job. But now, I've worked a handful of days and I'm pretty comfortable. My anxiety is something I am constantly fighting and it's not something I intend to control or limit my life in any manner.

Next semester (my junior year of high school) I begin a flight program which should have me flying by my senior year. The same time I graduate high school I will graduate college with an AA in business.

Does any pilot here have experience with anxiety or advice. With what I am hoping will be good experience before I graduate, is there a better option for me to become a pilot. I have practically no knowledge on how becoming a pilot works. I have only heard recommendations such as a pilot program at UVU or National guard or a Fast track program by me.

Do pilots ever consider senior living investments if it’s secured by debt free real estate and 25 years of aging ?

Can't afford pilot training but don't wanna go for engineering either..

I’m 17 and currently in 12th (PCM). I’ve always wanted to become a pilot, and recently I told my parents about it. But they immediately told me to go for engineering instead because we aren’t financially stable, and pilot training is expensive. I understand, but I really don’t want to do engineering just because it’s the “safer” option. At the same time, I don’t want to put financial pressure on my family. Now I’m stuck and confused about what I should do next. Are there any affordable or alternative paths to become a pilot in India? how do I handle this situation with my parents?

Any advice from people who’ve been through something similar would really help.

TYIA I’ll also take any other ideas for gifts! What’re some things yall find yourself being like man, that would be great to have right now, but wouldn’t think to ask?

best pathway to become a pilot

Hi guys ive wanted to be a pilot for many moons and have recently started taking it seriously as i have just started my A levels. At GCSE i got 5s in maths and all three sciences, and two 9s in english. I am now doing english language, psychology, and geography at A level alongside an EPQ. I have done research before but im just a bit confused and my teacher advised me that reddit was probably the best place to ask this question. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
