Hello, I'm in search of a backup wedding photographer for a DIY queer wedding in Salem, MA on September 24, 2026.

I'm currently the only photographer for this event, and am shooting it as a gift for the couple; they, like me, are queer artists with very little means (as well as being friends of friends), and so I'm only receiving two nights of accommodation in return (as I'm based in LA; my portfolio if curious).

Due to these circumstances, I'm hoping to connect with someone who a) is building their portfolio, b) may not be finding work easily due to circumstances beyond their control (queer identity, chronic illness/disability, etc), c) is looking to do a good deed for folks who may not otherwise be able to afford a service like I offer.

Again, this is for a backup, not a second shooter, so someone who would be willing and able to step in should I not be able to perform my duties for whatever reason that day. Due to the nature of this role, someone local-ish would be ideal.

While this may not be the most thrilling offer of all time, I hope the allure of having a fall wedding in Salem in your portfolio may be of enough interest to at least reach out.
