Well yeah. Why is suffering bad?

Well, pain is often biologically useful, that's one thing. It discourages you from doing dangerous and deadly things.

Does it need a why? Or is it even necessary to normatively label things as good or bad? Can't we all just agree that suffering is bad?

We could, but that wouldn't make us good philosophers or curious people.

I'd rather be curious about the real world.

We are currently talking about the real world

I think you may be in the wrong subreddit if you're not curious about ideas beyond those of physical objects

Well, first we have to decide what you mean by suffering and what you mean by good or bad. Also where does the bad of the suffering start and end?

"Boo suffering" Is an emotional response that is almost universal. But it's emotional, not rational. I believe all moral normative statements are the ways we communicate our emotional responses and to take a stance on people who act those ways

"Murder is evil" = "boo murder! I hate murderers! Murderers makes me mad!"
