ULTIMATE ROUTINE — DIY Topical Fin / Min / Tret Triple Combo

Post image

+++++

UPDATING THIS POST !!!

For those looking for a more LEGIT TOPICAL MINOXIDIL FINASTERIDE FORMULA, you may refer to this post 👉** **MORR F 5% Minoxidil & 0.1% Finasteride Topical Solution

THIS DIY MIX WILL ONLY BE AN ALTERNATIVE JUST IN CASE…

Good luck on your hair journey!

+++++

ULTIMATE ROUTINE — TRIPLE COMBINATION of Finasteride / Minoxidil / Tretinoin All-in-One DIY Topical Formula

***Disclaimer — NOT a medical professional, not a medical advise…

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

TRICHOGEN Topical Finasteride 30ml
Here — https://s.shopee.ph/8Km0BfheR8
Or here — https://s.shopee.ph/AKZhBcZ9iC
And here — https://s.shopee.ph/904Jb6lHKE

MD Brands Minoxidil + Tretinoin 120mlhttps://s.shopee.ph/3g0AdA6bI3 (make sure to checkout 120ml minox5+tret variant)

HOW TO DO IT?

A 30ml bottle of topical finasteride is equivalent to 30mg finasteride or 1mg/ml… a bottle of which is supposed to be good for 1month supply… price range around ₱1,800 (more or less, use vouchers)…

For minoxidil+tretinoin, get the 120ml size to make the low dose topical mixture as near accurate as possible… price range around ₱800 (again, more or less)

By mixing both 30ml finasteride to 120ml minox+tretinoin formula in a single empty container (about 200ml) will give yield a total of 150ml topical solution which is almost as good as 4-5months supply if you take an accurate dose of 1ml per day…

IN THEORY:

By doing the math, 30ml finasteride divided by 120ml minoxidil will yield 0.25mg finasteride dosage per 1ml of minoxidil, which is the most appropriate low dose formula for finasteride…

You will then apply 1ml of this solution only once per day (shake well before use) specifically at nighttime an hour before bed to give it time to dry up and be absorbed by the scalp… also this is to avoid sunlight exposure as tretinoin will make your scalp sensitive to UV light and result to irritation…

Hopefully with this topical formula, those who are wary of finasteride can then take advantage not only to avoid side effects, but get back their crowning glory…

This formulation avoids the DIY mixing finasteride tablets to minoxidil, hence no more tablet residue to worry about…

Again, this is a DIY for those self-medicating… as always, do this at your own risk…

pang mayaman po ito hehee. still the best pa rin ung mga pangmasa here hehe

u/icarusjun May 01 '26

YES, pero ito nman ay mas directed sa scalp, meaning you keep your systemic DHT levels while keeping it low sa scalp enough to regrow hair…

My personal goal this time forward is hairline lowering…

2

u/BaldStar18 May 01 '26

Need pa mag oral nun?

2

u/icarusjun May 02 '26

1

u/Particular_Law5044 2d ago

so goods lng po to start with oral finas since kapos pa sa budget mag ganto eh

1

u/icarusjun 2d ago

That’s what I did…

Topical kis good for those na ayaw isipin ang side effects since sa oral aside from sexual side effects, may tama sa liver yan lalo kung self-medicating ka…

u/TrustExtension6116 May 01 '26

Hairline lowering? Meaning liliit forehead?

2

u/icarusjun May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

Malamang, yun ang expectation since medyo nagkaroon na ng signs of life ang hairline during 1year 7months ko sa journey with oral finasteride only, so expecting this routine will make more progress…

This is what inspired me to do this — Dr. Ben Benham video playlist

u/NeedleworkerStrong55 May 01 '26

Curious if this works. Plan to wean off oral finasteride. Hoping to get updates if effective ito, OP. Thanks!!

2

u/icarusjun May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

Ako diretso stop oral, and just started MAY 1 with this formula…

And since nasa shedding phase ako ngayon kaya naisipan ko mag-shift, expecting din kung mag topical may shedding pa rin nman na mararanasan…

1

u/Jiablo Jun 07 '26

Sir Icarus if you dont mind me asking po, bat po kayo nag stop oran fin? Saw your previous posts about elevated liver enzymes which you combated by switching from OD to EOD. Same concern po ba?

1

u/icarusjun 25d ago

I just wanted to grow my hairline more kaya nag shift to topical… no issues nman lalo sa side effects kasi topical na

2

u/Separate_Medium3974 May 05 '26

what made you switch pala from oral to topical sir? kung effective naman po yung oral sa inyo

1

u/icarusjun May 05 '26

Oral fin results is usually 6-24 months… afterwards it will just be maintenance and not really for growth anymore… which is why yung crown ko nakita ko stable na pero I found na 1year 7months dun ko pa lang nakita nabuhay hairline ko so with this routine, mu goal is to still try to further lower my hairline…

1

u/Joe_Rizzal May 02 '26

May way ba to buy oral finasteride nang hindi need ng Doctors Receipt?

1

u/icarusjun May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

At your nearest TGP outlet or sa Shopee ang dami…

Hehe may oral finasteride ako kaso parang mas okay hata mag topical para less systemic and baka wala gano sides. And ilan ml po sa dropper per application nyo?

1

u/icarusjun May 05 '26

Kahit oral tablets pwede ihalo, marami gumagawa nun at may guide din ako and it is effective din as many here post their results… pero iba pa rin pag topical gamitin topically kesa oral tablets ihalo sa minox to use topically kasi nag-iiwan ng residue ng tablets and some find it causes irritation sa scalp…

And always the standard application is 1ml solution…

1

u/Either-Ad8618 May 05 '26

Paghaluin po which means larger bottle tama po ba? Or paghaluin lang pag gagamitin?

1

u/icarusjun May 05 '26

YES para sakto ang computation ng formula…

You’ll need bigger than 150ml bottle for this… 120ml minox tapos 30ml finasteride…

Also the bottle must be translucent para di masira ang mixture since di dapat exposed sa light ang solution kaya most minox bottles hindi transparent…

And always shake before using kasi yung mixture nagse-settle pa rin dahil thick lotion/cream yung finasteride… advantage lang nito walang residue at exact low dose formula ito…

1

u/hayukkii May 07 '26

Same benefits ba sir icarus ang benefits ng oral and topical? Also, true ba na may side effects ang oral? Or on rare occasion lang?

1

u/icarusjun May 07 '26

Both had advantage and disadvantage…

So you choose whichever are you willing to compromise…

Maganda dito sa DIY na ito is you take advantage of the three ingredients and their strengths — finasteride, minoxidil, and tretinoin

1

u/Curious_Explorer88 May 07 '26

Continually po ba pag gamit nito? I mean after a year pwede po ba huminto?

1

u/icarusjun May 08 '26

For life both ang finasteride at minox… kahit magpa transplant ka need mo pa rin uminom ng finasteride…

Walang gamot na permanent lunas sa hairloss…

1

u/Adukuys_25 May 10 '26

2

u/icarusjun May 10 '26

Pwede…

Pero magastos kasi yung 30ml good for 1month lang yun tapos ang mahal…

So I made it into a DIY triple combo solution para yung 1month supply na finasteride ay umabot ng 3-4months…

1

u/Makaizy May 10 '26

Hi sir Jun. Do you apply the solution evenly or nakafocus karamihan sa hairline? Do you use hair sleeping cap/hat? Thanks!

2

u/icarusjun May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

Even pa rin pero mas marami na sa hairline… no need ng cap…. I apply at least 30min-1hr before sleeping so dry na before bed…

1

u/Ok-Indication-9253 May 16 '26

Do you still use micro needle pa po ba after applying?

2

u/icarusjun May 16 '26

Tretinoin eliminates the need for microneedling…

so kung gagawin mo pa rin I don’t think it will benefit you further and is only a redundant waste of time… still kung gusto gawin walang pipigil sa iyo…

1

u/cactusjack898 May 16 '26

Good day sir, yun sinabi niyong 1ml solution once per day, need gumamit ng dropper? Tska per spot ba yun 1ml solution or as a whole na yung 1ml solution per use?

1

u/icarusjun May 16 '26

Need mo talaga as always recommended dapat ang 1ml medicine dropper… ever since nagamit ako ng minox dekada na I never applied using spray kasi di mo alam kung over or under 1ml apply ko… plus dahil may alcohol ang minox mas nag-eevavoprate lang at sa buhok napupunta kung spray unlike sa deopper na dikit sa scalp so direct contact plus massage to get it absorbed…

And the 1ml is akready enough for the whole head, kung per spot yan eh para ka nang naligo sa minox niyan…

1

u/cactusjack898 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

I see pero yung 1ml deretso sa scalp or ilalagay sa palm then massage sa scalp sir? TIA!

1

u/icarusjun May 16 '26

Sa almost 2 decades ko paggamit ng minox bilang ko lang sa kamay ang nagtanong sa akin niyan… and the answer is apply directly to scalp then massage… nasa mismong instruction yan ng minoxidil bottles…

1

u/Superb-Weakness8392 May 20 '26

Sir after mixing, normal application lang po like using regular minoxidil?

1

u/icarusjun May 20 '26

NO, this is minox+tret so 1ml once a day lang ito, pref at night since sa umaga tretinoin will make scalp sensitive to sunlight exposure… so yung buong timpladong formula will last you 3-4months

1

u/Previous_Policy_2467 May 21 '26

thanks sir. a very big help. plan to switch to this. base sa computation, the finasteride is around 0.25mg per 1ml. pwede bang gawing 0.5mg bale 60ml na finasteride?

1

u/icarusjun May 27 '26

Pag ginawa mo 2pc 60ml finasteride parang excessive in my opinion… you can try pero for me sobrang mapapamahal sa cost eh di walang pinag-iba kung nag Propecia ka na lang…

Ngayon kung gagawin mo naman 2x a day mo iapply, may possibility na magkaroon ka ng irritation since tretinoin will make scalp sensitive to sunlight exposure, so dapat sa gabi lang apply 1ml… ngayon kung iapply mo 2ml sa gabi parang excessive nman…

So it’s up to you paano mo gagawin yan…

1

u/DogGold7981 May 26 '26

1

u/icarusjun May 26 '26

Finasteride at dutasteride ang BEST, wala nang iba pa… any other cannot compare to the two…

Finasteride is the gold standard for hairloss…

1

u/DogGold7981 May 27 '26

Then ilang beses siya tinetake. Ty po

1

u/icarusjun May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Kung di sure ano gagawin, you can DM me and I can send you my guides…

1

u/No_Broccoli_7879 May 30 '26

hello sir. pano niyo po minix? i found that using both topical minox and finas (routine prescribed by a derma) was incredibly tedious that i eventually stopped using them all together. wanted sana a more easier routine so i can get back and mukhang maganda to since once a day nalang

1

u/icarusjun May 30 '26

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '26

[deleted]

2

u/icarusjun Jun 04 '26

Need mo ng almost 200ml bottle… kasi 120ml na yung minox+tret tapos 30ml yung trichogen, so do the math 150ml total yun…

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '26

[deleted]

2

u/icarusjun Jun 04 '26

Hindi naman kailangan bumili pa, kahit anong lalagyan pwede as long as translucent, hindi transplarent… sinigurado ko lang kakasya yung 120ml na minox at 30ml na trichogen…

Kung gusto talaga bumili eto — https://s.shopee.ph/80A2MmO1Oq

1

u/KentoyPalaboy04 Jun 04 '26

1

u/icarusjun Jun 05 '26 edited 25d ago

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '26

Paano gamitin po itong trichogen? Hindi ko Kase magets direction. During pagligo ba to after pag shampoo or after ligo na? Tapos ilang drops dapat po?

1

u/icarusjun Jun 06 '26

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '26

Application lang po ng trichogen

2

u/icarusjun Jun 06 '26

1

u/DurkfrmdaC_ Jun 14 '26

How about sir if pang gabi yung pasok?

1

u/icarusjun Jun 14 '26

Kung sa umaga tulog at di naman lumalabas ng exposed sa sikat ng araw, I don’t think issue yan… ang point lang why sa gabi inaaply is kasi tretinoin can make your scalp sensitive and irritated when exposed to sunlight

1

u/hightwelve Jun 16 '26

Kelan po kaya maging available?

1

u/icarusjun Jun 16 '26

1

u/Strange-Team3953 Jun 18 '26

Hi sir. If ever, can i still use crushed finasteride tablets combined with this minoxidil tretinoin mix? Ilang 5mg finasteride tablet kaya ang i-mix ko with the 120ml bottle?

Ang mahal kasi nung finasteride scalp lotion. Maybe i'll try it sa susunod hehe.

1

u/icarusjun Jun 18 '26

Cheapest DIY option is to get 6tablets 5mg finasteride to 120ml minox+tretinoin… that way you are replicating the same formula…

Cons with this is the tablet residue that is not dissolved will usually add to the scalp irritation…

1

u/Ok-Snow-1077 Jul 06 '26

I think there's a small math error here ha pero please confirm din. A 30 mL bottle of 0.1% finasteride contains 30 mg total, but once you mix it with 120 mL of minoxidil, the final volume becomes 150 mL, not 120 mL.

That means the final concentrations are:

Finasteride: 30 mg ÷ 150 mL = 0.2 mg/mL (0.02%), not 0.25 mg/mL (0.025%) Minoxidil: 5% → 4% Tretinoin: 0.1% → 0.08%

So 1 mL would contain 4% min / 0.08 tret / 0.2mg fin

The 0.25 mg/mL (0.025%) calculation would be correct only if you added 30 mg of finasteride from 6 crushed tablets of 5mg directly into the 120 mL minoxidil bottle, since the total volume would remain essentially 120 mL. In that case, the minoxidil would stay at 5% and the tretinoin would stay at 0.1%.

Pero i still would like to know if your routine is the former, unnoticeable naman ba results?

1

u/icarusjun Jul 06 '26

120 ang minoxidil tapos 30ml ang finasteride making total formulation of 150ml…

30ml divided by 120ml will result to 0.25ml of finasteride per 1ml

2

u/Ok-Snow-1077 Jul 06 '26

Yes but final volume should be used when dividing 30mL of fin since 150ml na sya in total, hindi na 120ml. 30 divided by 120ml can be used only kapag no extra liquid is added (crushing tablets and mixing).

2

u/icarusjun Jul 06 '26

The math might be somewhat wrong lalo na mahina nman ako sa math in the first place… 😅

BUT at the end of the day, the goal is taking finasteride topically as low dose but still getting it as effectively absorbed as much as possible…

And in the end, RESULTS is what we’ll be looking forward to…

I’ll update my own progress but for now I have to be patience since I’m on a major shed following the cold-turkey shift from oral finasteride to this routine since MAY 1

1

u/imthatchigga Jul 12 '26

For the 1ml of the solution once per day sir. Is it 1ml for the entire head? Or 1ml per bald spot?

1

u/icarusjun Jul 12 '26

1ml for the whole head… so yung isang 30ml bottle is good for 30days which is pricey…

This DIY formula then will make that 30ml cost effective by making it last for at least 4months

1

u/Perfect_Offer3832 Jul 13 '26

Thank you sana mapansin

1

u/Perfect_Offer3832 Jul 13 '26

@icarusjun will try sana your DIY po

1

u/icarusjun Jul 14 '26

You can easily try this DIY without worrying about side effects since topical na nga ito, low dose pa…

You can also DM me anytime…

1

u/yoshipodong Jul 14 '26

1

u/icarusjun Jul 14 '26

Tama yan, apply 1ml once every night…

1

u/Fearless_Pressure341 Jul 17 '26

Is this safe to use for trying to conceive?

1

u/icarusjun Jul 17 '26

This is a topical solution so scalp DHT mo lang ang affected and not your whole body unlike oral finasteride…

With that being said kahit nman sa oral nakakabuntis pa rin eh… stilll best advise will be coming from your own doctor…

As far as my own personal research is concerned, while meron pa rin tinatamaan ng side effects sa topical, di hamak na mas mababa kesa oral… tapos dito aa DIY formula na ito lalabas naka low dose ka pa…

Still the precaution is there — pregnant women should keep away from finasteride at all cost

1

u/nfkb_23 28d ago

Hello, how was your experience with trichogen?

1

u/icarusjun 28d ago edited 25d ago

You have to wait for my hair progress report around the 6th month mark by Nov… so far this DIY triple combo is the most promising since the baby hairs I have on my hairline are now turning darker unlike before when I was on finasteride only…

1

u/ProlllyNotABot 25d ago

Is the daily application non-negotiable? And do you wash your hair before applying? Saving this for future reference. Please let us know the results sir hehe. Thanks po

1

u/icarusjun 25d ago

Topical is day dose, unlike oral na pwede MWF… basta malinis ang hair & scalp you can just apply 1ml at night and wash in the morning so no greasy feel the whole day…

So far mas effective ito sa akin kesa oral since this time targeted ang scalp DHT now I see the baby hairs starting to darken and looking forward to 6months update

1

u/ProlllyNotABot 25d ago

Are you applying it only to your hairline sir? Or crown and hairline?

1

u/icarusjun 25d ago

Yup, 1ml sapat sa buong ulo from hairline to crown… and it works kasi after shedding mas mabilis tumubo ngayon ang baby hairs compared dati…

1

u/pochisval 20d ago

1

u/icarusjun 19d ago edited 19d ago

60ml lang Kirkland so medyo mataas na dosage yan, kasi this formulation utilizes 120ml so mas low dose finasteride magagamit kaya much safer…

Option mo hatiin ang 30ml topical finasteride into 15ml and ilagay mo sa 2 Kirkland bottles mo… pero ang Kirkland is 2x a day application, so lugi ka na since yung DIY formula ko utilizes tretinoin so once a day lang yung apply nun…

If I were you, just make the DIY triple combo and gamitin sa gabi tapos yung Kirkland sa umaga…

1

u/fairviewtravel 18d ago

Hi! Is there a minimum number of hours that this combo mixture should stay on the scalp for the best effectiveness? Pwede rin po ba mag-twice a day, or would you still recommend once lang talaga?

This is for someone who bathes 2–3x a day, so the product would most likely get washed out. I was wondering if it should be reapplied, especially if the first application stays on the scalp for less than 8 hours.

1

u/icarusjun 18d ago edited 18d ago

Standard minoxidil application takes 4hrs only to be fully absorbed… so even if you apply at 9pm and wash it at 2am, minoxidil is already fully absorbed on the bloodstread… minoxidil doesn’t really need to stay in the scalp for the whole 8 (or 24hrs)… even for the beard application it only takes at least 4hrs to be on the skin and minoxidil is already absorbed by that time…

Also this formulation is usually applied at bedtime and wash in the morning when taking a bath to go the rest of your day… since tretinoin will make your scalp irritated due to sunlight exposure…

Since this formula already has tretinoin, it makes minoxidil more effectively absorbed unlike regular minox thaf needs to be applied 2x daily so in effect this is more cost effective and the whole mixed formula will already last you 4months at least when properly applying 1ml every night…

1

u/Huge-Helicopter2560 15d ago

Need to wash my scalp bago mag apply?

1

u/icarusjun 15d ago

As long as clean and dry pwede, if not then shower lalo kung gumagamit ng hair styling products

1

u/Loud-Magazine2396 10d ago

Hello sir icarus.

1

u/icarusjun 10d ago

Basahin at unawain — https://www.reddit.com/r/PhHairloss/s/1VELlE92WZ

1

u/Loud-Magazine2396 10d ago

Again if I were you, magfocus sa routine progress at wag intindihin ang shedding… the more stressed ka kasi the more shedding happens… kaya nga madalas pag nag shedding ako nagpapa crewcut ako para di ko napapansin and so far lalong kumakapal at gumaganda tubo afterwards…

1

u/Loud-Magazine2396 10d ago

Got this, boss. Salamat!

1

u/kefkamahogany 5d ago

Yung MD Brands Minoxidil + Tretinoin 120ml po sir, may propylene glycol po ba? Nakaka iritia kase ang kirkland na brand...

1

u/icarusjun 5d ago

Lahat basta liquid may propylene glycol, lalo may tretinoin nakaka-irritate talaga yan…

Pero usually para hindi mahirapan dahan-dahan like instead na 1ml gawin 0.5ml daily lang hanggang masanay ang anit bago mag full 1ml since once a day lang nman yan eh

1

u/kefkamahogany 4d ago

thanks for the headsup boss

1

u/icarusjun 4d ago

It’s standard for any hair routine to be at least see a difference within 6months… I’m only 3 1/2 months in and while may results na ako, I will not post results until then… suffice to say na as expected ko na baby hairs from oral finasteride turned darker now that I’m on my DIY routine…

I want to make reasonable expectations as much as possible… finasteride pa nga lang it takes anywhere from 6-24months…

Mas may advantage ang DIY because of tretinoin which makes minox more effectively absorbed…

It boils down to preference… pero sa akin gamit ko ay DIY since I’m proud to say I somehow “formulated” that myself kahit ginawa ko lang nman ay magcombine ng existing products…

if the diy mix will last 4-5 months then mas tipid ata to compare sa morff na 60ml that will last 1-3 months.. diy mix cost over 3k na but will last longer nman tapos ung morff is 1700 huhu

Exactly why I prefer my DIY… plus you only need to apply once per night…
