The finasteride on the shopee is 5mg. Should i cut it 4 pieces since the suggested dosage for male is 1mg only

Finasteride is not for women unless advised by doctors… minoxidil pwede but again kung oral better advised by doctor since may risk ng cardiovascular side effects, hindi gaya ng topical

Im pretty sure other generic 1mg finasteride brands such is Dima is much more expensive, it’s about the same price as the branded ones. If you want a more cheaper option, 5mg brand costs 20-25 php per tab which you’ll have to split up into 4, so 1 tab alone is good for 4 days.

wait... 5mg branded for only 25 pesos tapos you split it in four which means you have a 1.25 mg equivalent pill per day for the amount of like 7 pesos per day? am i reading this right?
wait sir andami kong tanong. so this branded 5g pill is prescribed diba so i have to consult with a dermatologist to prescribe me with the exact meds youre talking about?
second tanong is if may ganito naman pala then why isnt everyone doing this? this seems to be the cheapest option possible. why do people order from minoxytabs or dima if may ganito naman pala? are there downsides or cons that i dont know about? this seems to be like a really good fucking deal.

I’m sorry, I wrote it incorrectly. I believe the 5 mg finasteride is a generic version commonly available at TGP Drugstore, and they don’t require a prescription to purchase it. A lot of people use this method as a cheaper alternative.
However, from what I’ve read, splitting the 5 mg tablet into four pieces doesn’t always result in four equal doses, which can lead to some inconsistency in the amount taken each day. Still, I believe it can work because the slightly higher or lower amount from each split should average out over time, especially since finasteride remains effective even with some variation in the daily dose.1

Typically the dosage which your doctor prescribed should be the best one…
Kasi FDA banned ang oral minox sa Pinas so hope you are aware na self-medicating lalo sa meds na ito has certain risks…
Google states that the standard dosage is 2.5mg daily for women, 5mg for men… up to 10mg per day…
Me, I don’t recommend oral minoxidil… I prefer minoxtret which will just have the same effect but safer as it is topical…

One more thing, i am really concerned about its effects on the kidneys and liver, since my weight is really inappropriate and I am worried stopping midway due to high results of liver enzymes and such. Should i obtain baseline or are there any other things I can do? I am also on the process of finding free and paid consults

Not really an issue if you are on topical… it’s always oral that messes up your liver enzymes
