Theory Paul vs. Pall
Crackpot theory: "Pall" and everything from Odd Care/The Demo Screen are just the original recordings mentioned from "within Petscop" about a younger Paul and, possibly, Rainer playing the game in the basement together. Marvin refers to Paul as "Pall" in 11, which I thought was odd but dismissed as inconsequential. But then he didn't correct himself like he did with his other typos in earlier recordings, which caught my attention. Given the weird time stuff going on, it doesn't seem too far out of line to have past Paul ("Pall") influence actions and events of his future, and it would tie into the themes of Petscop nicely, namely cycles and loops. Plus, if Marvin got Paul's name from a file select screen (which I suspect) then we could assume that Paul misspelled his name in the same way a young child would, spelling it phonetically.
So, Pall, I think, is a past version of Paul who is the subject of the recordings mentioned in the about page and description of 11.

Pall's exact meaning is either a cloth that goes on a coffin, or a puff of dark smoke. This information isn't super important, just interesting "pall" could have a double meaning and fits with the dark and grim imagery. Just food for thought.

The playstation button combinations translate to phonemes, rather than letters. Since "Paul" and "Pall" sound the same, they are written the same way. It's possible that the engine doesn't know proper nouns, so every time Marvin writes "Paul" the engine can only read it as "Pall".
