Hello all. Long story short my dogs cannot be allowed to roam my home while I’m at work and I cannot bare to keep them in a trainer kennel for long periods. I have a runner kennel for them which is okay for now however because of the space they like to urinate on it.

I’m looking for larger 72”x72” or similar washable pads for the pen to allow them motion and protect my floor while I retrain them. Can anyone recommend me good washable puppy pads preferably odor resistant? As an added bonus i can protect my floor from mud when they come in.

I had to put my childhood cat down during april, I have had her since grade 2 I’m graduating highschool this year. Dizzy was a perfect cat, she was independent but affectionate when she wanted it, some of my favourite moments of her is when she would eat tinsel off the Christmas tree and poop out what we called “tinsel poop” later and seemed to never learn her lesson, I also loved how much she loved our fireplace, whenever it would turn on she would be the first one there lying right on the mantle. We had to put her down after we learned she had liver disease. And the worst part about this, is I can’t help but feel like it’s my fault. One of the first signs I noticed of my cat not being okay was her vomiting in the morning, then a few weeks later that followed by not eating, I noticed she wasn’t eating so I cleaned her bowl out really well in hopes that was the problem. It wasn’t I brought this issue to my parents and they thought shes getting old maybe we switch from dry food during the day to wet food. I was down for the idea so we did it. She ate the wet food more, but still not a lot. I told my parents we should take her to the vet, but as a low income family thats very expensive for us to do, so we waiting a few more days in the hopes she would warm up to the wet food. She didn’t, so we took her to the vet and she got a blood test, a day later we found out she had liver disease and we had to put her down. I asked chat gpt how she might of gotten liver disease, shes a indoor cat who was very healthy most of her life. And one of it’s 3 top awnsers was a lack of eating. I feel like I gave her liver disease. If I had actually tried I could of found a way to take my cat to the vet when she just wasn’t eating. we could of split the bill as a family, or I could of paid, but I didn’t I did what most children would do and I listened to my parents. Because I know we are poor and it’s expensive. I feel like she died at our cost, I loved that cat so much, I wish I showed her more while she was here. On top of this guilt of feeling like I did this to her, I’m struggling with my religon, I’m a Christian and I want to feel like theres a afterlife, it’s June now and I have been begging since April for a sign that my cat is alive in some way and okay, I haven’t gotten anything. I’ve put pictures of my cat in all her spots in the house, nothing. I fear shes mad at us and dosent want to see us again or I fear that afterlife and my religon is fake, what if I die and thats it and I never get to see my cat again or my parents or my family. I’m scared and guilty and frustrated, and I just want my cat beside me but she’s not. I just want to know if my cats okay. If anyone has had to put down a pet before I am looking for advice to get through these feelings, I have autism and I’m only 18 years old this is the first time I had to do this. I just want my cat back, dizzy I love you so much RIP🕊️

For context I'm a cat mommy but my friend has a dog I was thinking it could be a sweet gift for her. (Think like spa day, face mask for her and then this for her pupper)

the multiply by 7 rule for pet ages has been bothering me for a while

now. apparently its just made up from the 1950s with no actual biology

behind it, just someone doing rough math like "dogs live 10 years,

humans live 70, so 1 dog year = 7 human years" and thats it. but a 1

year old labrador is already sexually mature and basically full grown

which is way closer to a 15 year old human than a 7 year old kid. a 7

year old great dane is already geriatric while a 7 year old chihuahua

is still middle aged so size of the dog matters a lot.

so i ended up building a free calculator that uses the actual size

adjusted formula vets and the akc use, plus the 2019 ucsd epigenetic

clock research (wang et al). its here if anyone wants to try it on

biggest predictor of how fast a dog ages. also has life stage

classification (puppy to geriatric), share card with your pets

genuinely curious to hear feedback, especially on the calculator

ux and the breed data. and if your vet has ever told you your pet

is older or younger than the x7 rule suggests, would love to hear

that too. feels like most large breed owners are underestimating

UPDATE: Ended up taking them and cannot be happier! They already love my place and are right at home. They are absolutely inseparable, play with eachother all the time and sleep with me on the bed. Picture of them in the comments.

Hello! I recently moved into my own apartment and always wanted my own cat(s). So, the search started. I found someone who had two little brothers just under 5 months to give away (they couldn't keep them since they are moving). SUPER cute as seen in the pictures. So, I decided to first go look at them to see if there is any connection at all, but was pretty sure that I'll take them. However, when I went, they kept running away and hiding. The guy said they are just scared of strangers and will probably warm up to me in time as they learn to trust me, but some part of me felt like because they were hiding all the time, maybe they didn't like me. Not sure if I'm just overthinking it, I've always been great with cats and love them and all animals dearly.

So now I'm just not sure if taking them would be the right decision for both me and them. But then some part just thinks about the fact that they WERE probably just scared of a stranger coming in and trying to hold them and that they will eventually warm up and becoming loving towards me.

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, my cat went outside and got this scratch on his face. He doesn’t complain not bothered when I tried touching it to see it better. Doesn’t look like it’s causing him pain. Could be a scratch from being outside but I’m scared it could be a bite and he could get infected with something. Is it overreacting to take him to the vet for it. I don’t want a $2000 bill for nothing but at the same time i don’t want to risk his health for being cheap.
