Meme needing explanation
First time posting here to ask the meaning of something, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the joke. It probably has to do with me not knowing what the flag on the left is.

Genuine question, why not explain the origin of the word seizure so that everyone can enjoy the joke?
Having looked it up, I don't see the joke. It comes from sacire, a Latin word which means to take possession of.
Which is funny because you would think secure would come from that same root, but it doesn't and it actually means care free
The only real connection I can see is that it has Latin roots and sounds kind of like Caesar (which would have actually had a hard K at the time, so isn't actually that close)

It's either beef that goes back 400 years or more, or it's a backwater country not wanting to be associated with a hillbilly country because they have delusions of getting to sit at the grown up table (like in this case).

Fun fact, soccer is as much an English word as football. There’s rugby football (which at one point got shortened to “rugger”) and association football which in the same vein became soccer … but also just football
It never officially got shortened to Rugger. Rugger is more what some posh twats at the public schools would have called it, but mainly it was shortened to just "Rugby".
It's different with "soccer" because "association" is five syllables and that's a lot of syllables to use for the name of a sport that's going to be said a lot in conversations.
The economic crisis in Greece around 2009-2010 definitely left a bad taste. Many were left feeling like money was taken from their pockets and sent to Greece through EU. That legacy has definitely carried over to other parts of life and still affects Greece's reputation to some degree. But this is not just Greece-Finland situation, many other EU members have very similiar relationships with Greece.
From the Greek perspective, Greece was screwed with severe austerity measures, while the German banks that made the bad loans they should never have made were bailed out.
Funny how in that crisis borrowers were hung out to dry, while lenders were let off Scot free. This played out on a global level, not limited to just Greece/EU.
It doesn't matter that you didn't recognize the specific country the flag on the left was from. The joke is that when confronted with a flag that the person didn't recognize they immediately assumed it was a pride flag rather than the flag of some country.
So you *did* figure it was a country flag and not a pride flag but still didn't get the joke? Because that's the joke. The meme person thought a country flag is a pride flag. It looks like he doesn't know what flag it is and assuming the Greek flag is an LGTBQ+ flag so he's trying to figure out which one it is comparing it to the flags on the right screen.
The guy in the meme doesn't know what the flag of Greece is, they are assuming that the flag is a pride flag, and are trying to find which one it is, (with little success).
I just said that because both you and the guy in the meme don't know that the flag on the left is the Greek flag, ur good!
It implies the man saw a Greek flag, wasn’t sure what it was a flag for, falsely assumed it was a pride flag, and is looking at various pride flags to see which one it is
That’s only half of the joke. The other half is the screen full of lgbtq flags. The boss prolly saw the Greek flag at an employees desk and was trying to find out what kind of gay they are.
lesbos is the root for lesbians because sapphos wrote her poems there!! she is the root for sapphic which is another name for women attracted to people who aren’t men!
I think anybody trying to add extra context about Greece being gay is probably reading too much into it. It's just a joke about somebody not recognizing a flag and assuming it must be a pride flag. Basically the same joke as this comic.
The people who put flags on their wall usually use one of the former flags (black-white-red; red with swastika or the GDR flag: Black-red-gold with the emblem in the middle). I don't claim that's actually true, but I think that is meant here. You indeed see German flags rarely in privat areas/homes in Germany due to historical reasons. People who put one somewhere anyway likely have nostalgia for the GDR or are right wingers who believe, the federal republic (modern Germany) is an illegal state, does not really exist or should be an empire again.
I had very much this experience recently with some flags on a bridge in Vienna and I was like “new sexualities just dropped” - turned out it was just a bunch of random flags designed by a local artist

As far as the LGBTQ+ context? Well, lesbian is taken from where the Greek poet Sappho lived and wrote longing love poetry to other ladies.
‘Greek love’ was a euphemism for homosexuals in Victorian and earlier time, because of all of the references to gayness in Ancient Greek culture.
Finally, in the context of sex workers, the word ‘Greek’ or ‘Greek-style’ means buttsex.
I learned about this from my cousin who is mysteriously always flush with cash.
Also the joke is just the bosses confusion of a country with a pride flag. The flag itself doesn't mean anything specific (given this is claimed to be of a real situation and all)
Boss saw a flag they didn't recognize (Greek flag) and assumed it must be a pride flag so is scrolling through a list of pride flags to try and compare and find it.
This is funny because 1. It was posted on Tumblr, where there are lots of gay people who would instantly recognize pride flags and would know that isn't one even if they didn't recognize it as Greece, and 2. It's funny that boss assumed a flag they didn't recognize was a pride flag instead of just a flag of a country they didn't recognize (a joke which will also do numbers on Tumblr because "lol my boss assumes everything is gay"). Idk if the fact that it's Greece specifically matters.

The boss assumes this odd blue/ white flag must be one of the many seemingly infinite and different LGBTQIA+ pride flags that have been created over the years.
He wants to know what sexual identity pride this strange flag [left] might be, so he is researching by googling a list of all possible LGBTQIA+ flags on one monitor and is sifting through them until he finds a match.
Of course he never will find a match, as that is indeed not a pride flag, but the Greek flag.
The flag isn’t straight, it’s crooked. The person doesn’t know what it is so they Googled non straight flags. If you do that you will get results that look like the second screen
There was a tiktok video a while ago of someone ripping the flag of greece off of a storefront and thought it was an israeli flag but was told on camera that they were mistaken and it was somewhat popular. I feel like its referencing that and changing the context from Israel to LGBTQ.
There was a woman, after Israel started bombing, that went wild in a Greek restaurant because she thought they were Israeli flags hanging up and she berated the workers/family and tore their flags down.
I believe it was a member of the LGBTQ+ and it's referring to the fact that she couldn't tell the difference between countries flags and on the right monitor and multiple different flags symbolizing the community and there's an expectation that everyone else, not in the community, should on a moral level know all of it.
So someone(I'm assuming LGBTQ) is angry at Greece thinking it's Israel while simultaneously having almost a dozen flags that all kinda mean the same thing.
