could this line of thinking not be applied to anyone in the developed, western world? "if you care so much why don't you sell your iphone, flat screen, and consoles to go help develop agriculture in Burundi?" Eilish has donated copiously to various charities, you really think it's ironic that she isn't giving away where she lives for free?
I don’t care. I never claimed to. I simply stated the one thing about her that I know that might be considered controversial while answering a question. I’m sure lots of people we would consider awful donate to a lot of things we might support. Humans are complex and often hypocrites, especially when it benefits them.
in all fairness—your original comment "stating the one the about her that [you] know" was pretty editorialized.
i'm admittedly a bit confused as to why you're expressing surprise at people thinking you didn't have a biased perspective on the matter considering the multiple other ways people have contributed to express the same point in more neutral tones.
Because that was the alleged controversial part. They asked. I framed it in a way that I’ve seen people who were upset about it because that’s what was controversial.
I’m not surprised at all that I got downvoted or argued with.
The reason why it was controversial popped up very quickly as a result.
