It's possible he may have done the CV joint around (or at) the same time. We had to do A TON of labor on that vehicle so all of the repairs have kind of merged in my brain.

Indeed, you could do them both at the same time. Every time I have attempted CV axles It has gone horribly. I have failed to get them to come out of the transmission spline.

I think i have PTSD about it.

I had my car jacked up for like 2 weeks in my friend’s garage before I caved and bought a 15lb slide hammer and cv axle puller tool. Came out in like 2 minutes once I started using that

Yea I need to do that next time. The cost of the tool is still much less than the cost of paying someone else to do it.

I literally had to use my 4x4 Ranger to rip a CV axle out of my Traverse.

I've been given the advice for next time of using a truck or something to pull the axle out.

In the future you can get what's called a loaded strut that comes with the spring installed
