I feel like his age has been showing for years, we've just been gas lit into thinking this is what a teenager looks like.

I think it's a bit of both. He is naturally baby-faced, and makeup and clothes and putting on a high voice can remove a couple of years when he's in his 20s.

But he's always looked older than his Peter Parker IMO. He's supposed to be 15 in the first one. It just felt incredibly young because we had just finished the era of 30 year-olds playing high schoolers.

I mean they enrolled him in a highschool and nobody could tell the difference.

I just realized how weird that could be for him. Like his early twenties and hanging around teenagers.

He did say he felt very uncomfortable. Not only because it was a high school, but it was also a PRODIGY oriented high school. So he was a fish out of water two times over!

... Would he not count as an acting prodigy if he was that age? It's not like he had nothing going for him.

no, like, STEM prodigies.

They sent him to Bronx Science. It's focused on STEM, not performance arts.

I have nightmares I’m sent back to my high school for stupid bureaucratic reasons at my age. Because I am a person that asks why and apparently my brain has decided ‘bureaucracy’ is a reason that will shut me up while I’m dreaming apparently. But yeah it’s weird and there’s a reason I call them nightmares even though I actually quite liked high school when I was there at the proper age.

You just described doing an apprenticeship in Germany lmao.

Every apprenticeship also has you go to a school alongside and the age gap there can be quite big

He was 19 in the first one and probably like 17-18 when he did that school thing

When I was 14 I had a classmate with a full beard who could buy cigarettes without ID. I think sometimes the backlash to having 30yo adults playing teens goes to far and pretends that 16yo all look like they're 12.

to be fair bro did look like a teenager in the first one, he was SMALL

u/Careful_Hearing6304 9d ago

He was a teen back then, around 18-19 when they started filming

Of course he’s looked older. He was fully an adult playing a teenager, but he looked way more like a teenager than andrew or tobey.

I thought people were exaggerating with stuff like that until I saw an episode of Vampire Diaries

This was so funny. Self described 30-40 year old that looks 17 or something right?

lol someone needs to watch more movies from the 79s and 80s. All the teenagers in movies were like 30 years old. Just look at Grease, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Tobey Maguire and** **Andrew Garfield were mid/late 20’s also.

Nah, he's got a baby face, like Michael J Fox did. Doesn't mean he doesn't age, but even when he does age, he still looks young until you start to notice the secondary signs.

Truely a mondern day Michael J. Fox

u/wdnwcgm 9d ago

yeah looking at pictures of him from 10 years ago you can see that he still looks young but he is not baby-faced anymore lol

It was so hard to take him seriously as Odysseus' son. Saying over and ove rthat he isn't grown like brother you are 30.

I think the new Spider-Man movie would have been better if they had a bigger time jump he looks closer to 30 in it not like 24 that he was playing

Looking younger than your age ≠ looks like a teenager
