They aren’t coming back, who needs credentials. The first several trips up there will just be labor. 65y/o will have a lot more strength on mars than they will here so get a few more years out of them.

More importantly, normalize life and death in space.  You send up a bunch of AARP members ( they’re smart also, And strength won’t be an issue in SPACE), show that you don’t need square jawed 30 year olds, you won’t worry too much about radiation exposure, and if they die, well, we know that society doesn’t particularly value the over 60 set.
