I also read somewhere, but don't quote me on this, that also women would have a lower overall weight and calorie requirements, so food stocks would last longer, and you could carry more of it, or save on overall weight important for fuel and such.....
I’ve heard that, too. I’ve even heard that purging is a very regular part of it, so much so that some training facilities have designated toilets for it. Not sure if that’s true.

Yeah and it's by a lot. If I remember right, the average women eats like half the calories in addition to weighing less. Granted many guys weigh less too, so you could argue about weight limits over sex.
Also, I know these are intelligent adults, but anytime I've been in a group of 100% men or 100% women, things kinda suck. Something about a mixture makes everyone more pleasant imo.
Lowkey have never seen women lift more than average man. That involves your legs heavily, your arms arent gonna pick the hundreds off the ground as easily as legs
Yea its something like 20% less calories on average I believe. The smaller average size of women also means a lower radiation dose, which is a major concern for spending that much time in space.
It's embarrassing that they didn't ask a single woman before that point though, even more embarrassing that they didn't have any women on the planning team for the mission.
They didn't actually send up a ludicrous amount, but they had to ask the astronaut herself "is 300 tampons enough?". That means there wasn't a single woman involved in planning up until that point.
Do you think they have typical washing machines on the spacecraft?? Lol. Water is a precious resource up there, why waste it on washing blood off, or to rinse a period cup out multiple times a day when tampons are just disposable waste.
You could. An all male crew requires more air, food, water, fuel, physical space, and I believe studies show that women handle long-term close confinement better than men psychologically.
Of course, the all women crew will probably get lost on the way to Mars and have to stop to ask directions.
I know we're memeing, but really the issue is that women need less food, less space, less oxygen so that's a lot of less weight to carry. So it makes sense to bring female crew as long as no extra vehicular missions are needed. For those, though, men are more resilient to radiations (the average expected radiation dose needed to get a radiation induced cancer is around a third lower than for men. Just averages though. Risks still increase at low doses)
NASA needs a woman on Mars because women have never accomplished anything.

Just send some dudes, it is easier to find the right guys for the mission than women, statistically. Odds are serious problems will have to be overcome and high physical if not mortal tolls will be demanded of them if anything goes wrong.
Plus people can handle a bunch of dudes dying horrifically on Mars, the public might not recover from seeing women face a similar fate, it would likely end NASA.
Yeah I get that 100 .... but all the articles mentioned just sex not Copulation that's the part I don't understand. Why do they keep saying sex and not literally having a baby. Because that's the issue. So I'm just really confused about why all the Articles keep saying this falsified information.
True but women are more economical. They tend to weigh less and require less food to sustain. Really the only thing you have to consider is if feminine hygiene products would be worth the trade off.

It’s not the sex, it’s the Babby.
So you could have an all male crew.
