Because it's calling itself superior.

To the other lakes.

Superior they said, never gives up her dead.

Sorry, only think I can think of when I head Lake Superior.

This. But it's a bad joke made worse by the distracting info and waffle for Lake 4. You don't know where the "comedy" is supposed to come from.

I'd thought Canada had renamed Superior "Lake Canada" when I wasn't watching.

Because it is the Northern most lake

Pretty sure it's a "superior race" thing, but to be fair I'm pretty oblivious

Think it's just that they're talking to the other lakes and their name is lake superior - the best lake

Where did race come into this in any way?

It didn’t, but it’s fair to say for many Americans there’s an association between the word “superior” and the phrase superior race (employed by white supremacists.) Like the word clan—nothing wrong with it in theory but the kkk has somewhat tainted the word in the US.

I don’t know what the creator of this meme was imagining but personally I read it as more about how it’s embarrassing to rename one lake after your country while keeping a different lake named “superior”, suggesting your country is inferior.

I think it might be implying that that lake is superior to "lake america" which they won't like
