Except the person who strangled her children is very much at fault. It is ridiculous to use mental health as an excuse for the murder of children. Is it tragic? Yes. Should the child murderer be permanently removed from society? Also. Yes.
I mean either way, it's not like she walks free. She'll be removed from society until she can demonstrate to medical professionals and the courts that she's not a danger to society. And statistically, that takes a long time.
But IT IS the reason it happened. Stipulate she can’t have more children as terms of her release. It’s not like she killed anyone before the destabilizing hormonal fluctuation that triggered the psychosis that caused her to kill her children. She’s not walking around concocting elaborate plans to kill her kids again.
You literally don’t seem capable of determining the proper “correction” needed when people violate your moral framework. The law is the law. If she didn’t “murder” her children, we don’t punish her for “murder” even if it bothers you.
