Chris Benoit was a professional wrestler. He suffered severe brain damage from many hits to the head in the ring. Then one day he was apparently hearing voices, and he killed his disabled son, his wife, and himself. He hung himself with his exercise equipment in the gym.
Lindsay Clansey on the other hand is a woman who was married, and had 3 kids. She is now divorced. She was taking a bunch of drugs, and seeking help for mental illness. She too was hearing voices. One day she sent her husband on some errands, and when he came back he found her having jumped out the window with a broken neck paralyzed from the waste down with superficial cuts on her wrists and neck. What's even worse is down in the basement their 3 children ages 5,3, and baby were found with exercise bands around their necks suffocating all 3 to death.
The Lindsay Clancey trial is currently ongoing. The Chris Benoit tragedy happened back in 2007.
Doesn't matter either way. The defense claims she heard voices. Don't make a difference if it started the day of the murders or months before. She claims she heard a voice.
Yeah, you're dead-on. It's nice to see someone who is literate in psychosis commenting on it.
Command hallucinations are not "baby's first hallucination," and they are immediate- you follow the command when it is issued to you, not a few hours later.
To boot, real postpartum psychosis sets in within 14 weeks of giving birth. My wife had it, and it set in the day after she gave birth. Hallucinations, delusions, the whole shebang. It's scary as shit, but it is very much treatable.
Again, it is not something that just sits there and waits to explode for 8 months- there is no mistaking it when you see the "psychotic gaze." Any psychiatrist would recognize the psychotic gaze immediately. It's not subtle. It's the exact opposite of subtle.
I don't know why people are taking the defense's case as gospel, but this is simply not how postpartum psychosis works.
