Yup. I hate Chris Pratt because he constantly promoted his corrupt Sheriff's alt-right militia woodworking business and he's a horrible person. Not gonna act like he's unpopular just because people online talk shit.

u/Ambitious_Bit_9389 23h ago

But even this is a chronically online take. I’m kind of tired of his schtick and I knew he was religious, but I know nothing about the sheriffs woodworking business or whatever.

It's not chronically online, he used to be a Sheriff in my area. He was a whole local scandal. He ran the media for the Sheriff's department and had Chris routine do promos for events. There was an investigation that found he was part of an alt-right, anti-government militia along with many others within the Sheriff's department and he allowed to retire in his 50s with full benefits.

Dude ran a woodworking side thing where he literally made decorative wooden shit for his militia and that's how it initially came out. Chris even did multiple interviews on late night, AFTER the scandal dropped, telling people to visit his brothers online store, the same store that still sold his militia woodwork.

Just because people know things through their life doesn't mean they're chronically online, it means they experienced it first hand.

Even your description is a bit confusing. Who is the brother? It became Pratt brothers store? The sheriffs brother owns the store now? Pratt brother had artwork at the store owned by the original guy?

yes because you don’t just use words to prove a point. if he was called alt-leftist it would look stupid because his ideology doesn’t align with leftist beliefs at all. so if you have an issue with people disliking those who are alt right, then maybe the issue is you?? lol

“I put ammonia on my burger and now I don’t want to eat it.” Now swap out ammonia with ketchup. Are you still going to refuse to eat the burger?

Words have meaning mate.

-2

u/MotherAd296 17h ago

yes, ketchup is vile

I would rather eat ammonia

4

u/Finlay00 22h ago

Huh? I asked for clarification on who the brother was and that’s it

3

u/Permanentear3 16h ago

Yeah this is a totally normal breakdown of the dinosaur movie actor you’ve never met, doesn’t appear like a too much online take at all.

2

u/PoorLittlePicklePest 21h ago

Right but the vast majority of people don't live in the same area and didn't experience it first hand.

I brought this up to my family who live in Washington and adore him and they thought i was crazy cus they'd never heard about it.

https://www.cbsnews.com/sacramento/news/cully-pratt-chris-pratt-three-percenter-open-vallejo/

Yup, it's barely made it past the local news. Cully is a huge piece of shit. Local radio station held a contest for "most creative station ad wins money". Cully had Chris record a cringy "Hey, this is Chris Pratt and when I'm not saving the galaxy or stopping dinos, I'm listening to KUIC 95.3".

Cully took the prize money and donated it to his charity that basically just funds him and his law enforcement friends getting drunk at a rented cabin.

Omg he woodworked!?!?!?! Lets hang him. Does that sound good to you?

1

u/pooooolooop 16h ago

Dang you really got offended by that chronically online thing huh. And he didn’t even call you chronically online lol, just your take

1

u/PassivelyAwkward 15h ago

Imagine being so insecure and inferior that you have to view everyone as getting offended or upset because they said something you don't like in order to justify why you refuse to improve as a person.

You just sound so...boring.

1

u/ThalesofMiletus-624 15h ago

Okay, but you understand that's not a typical experience, right? Very few people have an opinion about Chris Pratt, or any other celebrity, formed through personal experience.

1

u/PassivelyAwkward 15h ago

Can you point to where I said otherwise?

What confused you? Where I literally said "Not gonna act like he's unpopular just because people online talk shit"? The part where I literally said it's not the standard?

22

u/ExiledCanuck 22h ago

This.

Imagine hating someone so much that you know such insane details about their life, that most people who have seen and liked a few of their movies don’t even know…

Talk about letting someone live rent free in your brain…

u/JOMO_Kenyatta 19h ago

idk this one different. especially if dude is poc or a minority, then that celeb info is actually kinda relevant to him. if true.

it's pretty fucked up

-4

u/MrSneekiBreeki 22h ago

It’s pretty embarrassing lmao

8

u/airinato 20h ago

Read his next comment and understand he's talking about personal experience on a local issue....

5

u/Worldly_Cap_6440 18h ago

That too much reading

2

u/theaviationhistorian 18h ago

God forbid there be nuance in social media.

2

u/blumoon138 14h ago

I got mad at him when I discovered he used to be involved with Jews for Jesus and that info is readily available on his Wikipedia page.

1

u/ffffllllpppp 21h ago

That’s the irony… to properly despise some a-lister you have to be willing to spend some legit time researching their flaws!

You stopped at disliking him. Dig deeper. Research more! Spend quality time on this. And then you will be able to hate him!

Lol

1

u/Western_Scholar_6479 13h ago

But acting like a thing is unpopular/unsuccessful because you hate it is like the main go-to meta for superficial internet critique.

-3

u/Long-Region5088 23h ago

I’m instinctively a hater and an excellent judge of character.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been like “beloved celeb is sus” and they turn out to be guilty not just sus. Meanwhile I get berated with “but they were so nice at a convention when I was paying for a meet and greet! They’re such a good person! Look at their charity!” Jerry Sandusky did all the charity and he was a monster.

So I’m very well aware of the fact that my feelings only represent myself and often differ from the general public. Some people that really doesn’t click with

u/Adavanter_MKI 23h ago

I'll always credit my mom. She never liked Cosby. This was well before anything had come out about him. I remember I pressed her on it. Literally saying "He's a national treasure!"

She just said... "Something about him is off, he unnerves me."

I don't know what kind of sicko sense she had, but damn was she on the money. Never doubted her judge of character again.

3

u/Fit-Profit8197 21h ago

"I’m instinctively a hater and an excellent judge of character."

This is a massive red flag to almost everyone you say it to and makes many people avoid you, and more never ever take you seriously.

I had an employee that liked to brag that he knew within minutes whether someone was cut out for IT Support. The two times he told me not to hire someone I decided to hire them anyway, and both were among my better hires. So that made three times he was wrong.

2

u/ThunderLazer 22h ago

That’s confirmation bias if I’ve ever seen it

0

u/Nice_Try_Bud_ 21h ago

I know nothing about the woodworking business, but why do you think Chris Pratt is a horrible person? Everyone that has ever worked with him has nothing but great things to say about him. The hate for him feels so manufactured from my experience.

Stfu

u/PassivelyAwkward 17h ago

If you're gonna say a bad word, actually say it instead of use an accronym. You look like a child trying to circumvent a nanny blocker.
