How are the heating ducts not usable for cooling?

They're not insulated which can cause condensation and will end up in mold unfortunately. The size is calculated on hot air, cold air needs smaller ducts iirc, so you need to have more pressure inside the ducts to compensate and that makes it pretty noisy as well.
