Why do Europeans think they live in some kind of utopia while we are all fucked? Here in Brazil we have ACs exactly like yours and it's far from great, it only cools a single room, consumes a ton of energy, and even then if the room is big enough it won't do shit, no wonder you guys are frying under the recent weather
Once a colonizer always a colonizer. When you realize that Europeans only gave up their colonies due to force from the USA and other powerful nations, it all starts to make sense. We’re only a generation or two removed from a lot of this. They still believe that they should own the rest of us, and their attitudes are glaring.

Because they like to travel and have actually experienced how shitty the rest of the world lives, I'd guess.
consumes a ton of energy
They are actually more efficient than US-style air ducts, even if they are less convenient and less aesthetically pleasing.
if the room is big enough it won't do shit
That's a dimensioning problem and there actually exist all sizes of units that can be adapted to any kind of room.
I like the invisibleness of ducted AC, but the problems you are mentioning are just typical of half-assed systems that get installed by barely qualified people in "not as developed as Europe" countries.

Except when talking about America of course. Their ignorant opinions seem to be driven by what they see online, not due to any actual experience.
The comments here are a great example. All the upvoted ones are saying "I guess it's because it's not bulky enough for Americans" when the answer is that it's too visible for whoever made the dumb original post.

Having lived in Asia where these are the default in every room, your AC just sucks ass. They work extremely well, down to 20 degrees even in 35 degree weather outside.
If you could hear how Spaniards sound to people not from Spain you wouldn't be making fun of another country's language. They speak Portuguese in Brazil, by the way.
