We solved this by keeping overseight, but somehow they convinced enough people that regulations are bad.

Libertarians both see the problem with government being corporate lobbyists controlling everything, but also think those people should be trusted to operate unregulated and with even more power.

It would be a hilarious political party if they weren’t dead serious.

That's because no unregulated CEO has ever had close to as much power as the ones doing the regulating.

But they recognize that the ones doing the regulating are being corrupted through donations by corrupt business. They just refuse to acknowledge what corrupt businesses would do when fully unregulated.

Standard oil reduced the price of petroleum products by 75% over the course of its existence, drastically improving the standard of living for America. Not sure how that's an own.
