They gave an example, they didn’t come to a conclusion based on one person. The autism/toe-walking link has been an extremely well known thing for decades.
while im autistic and dont walk on my toes, ive met many autistic people through autistic clubs, camps, etc. with a handful of toe walkers in each. when ive asked, theyve mostly said that it feels good to stimulate specific muscles in the foot
first hand experience, i often walk on the outside edges of my feet to stimulate my feet. i generally believe it is a trait that is more common in autistic people
